Unfortunately you gents are very much correct in your assessment of the ' maestro ' .

And to make matters worse it is almost that time of the year when we will all be rugging up against the cold this season . I truly hope that somehow or other Mary does pull a rabbit out of the hat , to keep the Dragons winning during the SOO period , otherwise it will be a very bitter winter indeed .

He did pull a Rabbit out of his hat ..... and they beat us.

Now imagine it if we lose to the Dogs.
We are looking a bit shaky but far from horrible. Even the Penrith game which was our worst loss yet we were still in the game until the last 20. And Penrith who were 2nd on the table and at home were on fire.
For me personally I was extremely disappointed with the loss and am a little worried that 2018 may be heading the way of 2015-2017 but FFS I am not destroying everything and anything related to the coach, players or club just yet!
Honestly this forum is full of cranky old men.
I cannot imagine how this place would be if we were outside the 8 like most the forum members predicted!!!

If we were outside the 8 then most criticisms would be justified.
If we drop to the bottom of the eight from our current position then not all but most criticism would be justified.

Because we are in the 8 it gives rise to 2 things
  1. Cautious optimism but we need to see a goodly part of the rest of the season to see if it is well founded
  2. Scepticism that it may in fact turn out like previous seasons as there are some indicators that make that scenario plausible
I agree that its is far from wrist slitting for the moment, however even the optimists must give some credit to the argument that, there are worrying signs and there needs to be some change.
If there is change then I am sure many of the worried people would acknowledge at least some alternate measures are being taken, which would be a good thing and provide some positivity.
If nothing changes and losses occur then the criticism will become a river of angst.

We're only half way through the season.

Straight Shooter
The only way this place will be remotely happy is if the dragons remain on top of the ladder for the entire season and go on to win the comp.
Actually no that wouldn't be enough.

We would need to do all of that whilst promoting at least 4 or 5 of our local juniors.
Latimore would have to be dropped and Kurt Mann would need to have a more important role than just a utility.

And for the diehards like yourself OV this would need to be repeated for minimum 3 seasons consecutively for you and your like to say well done to anyone linked to the SGI club.

Hey, we win three titles in a row I’d definately lay of the Sack McGregor thread for a week.

Listen we are Dragons supporters and expect nothing less than mediocrity, if we don’t get it upsets our delicate equalibrium and the world just doesn’t feel right.

I’m still not quite over success in 2010

As I said, it would need to be with Kurt Mann being top try scorer, nightingale dropped for an 18 year old and lomax, sele, host in the team otherwise it would be "yes we have won 3 comps in a row but you have to feel sorry for the way Mann has been treated and the way we neglect our youth. We can do better, sack McGregor!"

We would be still saying it's time Nightingale retired

Crush old boy, I ain't no cranky old man regarding Mary, I just don't trust the bas##ard!

From your point of view, what has he achieved in the last 3 years?

Has he "done good"?

You think he is the man to take us to the top?

Does the way he talks, the way he presents himself fill you with confidence?

Has he ever delivered when the test is put to him?

You forget how he blamed the field for being 3 metres too long last year, how he blamed teams scoring tries from kicks for our losses.....and other inane comments for our WEAK AS PISS final 12 games last year.

How he kept picking McCrone, how he kept picking Rein, how he still hasn't fixed Nightys side of our defence.

You do realise he gets paid good money to win games, come up with the right game plans, develop our players, choose the right team and get us to the to 4.

He is not doing it for free.

It's not under 15s.

He gets $9,000 a week or more!!.

He is not a professional coach, he is just an ex player, the Roosters even sacked Freddy Fittler from coach, Soufs sacked Madge, Grubs sacked Hasler, Titans sacked Neil Henry. Manly sacked Toovey. Tigers sacked Taylor.

Gould even sacked Cleary!!

Broncos want Wayne gone!!

But we hang onto Mary for goodness sakes crush.

It's laughable.

Mary is not a winner, he is
"Mr Excuse"

Sack him, he is not the future, if we want decent success.

He has had his chance, years and years of it.

Time for change.

Don't just blindly defend him, tell us in the last 3 years what he has done so well that makes you say he is the man for the job?
