Sad Passing of Gerry Fitzpatrick

Very sad to hear that former Queensland centre Gerry Fitzpatrick passed away on the weekend.

Fitzpatrick played eight games for Queensland including five against New South Wales in the 1974 and 1975 Interstate Series.

Originally from Toowoomba, he was an outstanding centre for Valleys in a golden era for the club, playing in five Grand Finals and winning Premierships in 1971, 1973 and 1974.

Gerry Fitzpatrick in recent years had done mountains of work to keep the Valleys Diehard spirit alive including the organisation of an annual reunion.

He was 62. Played in losing Grand Finals in 1972 and 1978.
