I was about to come on and boast about the super competitive weekend in which only a handful of points seperated the teams.

Then the score from the Jungle, Castleford comes in...

"Castleford 4.....St Helens......72!"

Glad I missed the game due to work now. It was like watching a season highlights DVD according to a friend at the game, no competition in sight.

Sounds like a training run for St Helens. Castleford are coming back down to relegation danger... their good form that earnt them a climb up the table has disappeared now.

Another sign the league has to really work on evening up this competition somehow, by helping the other six clubs develop to the point they can afford to spend on the current salary cap.

To be fair,an already out-of-form Cas team had several injuries and key players missing - they had a youngster making his debut at loose-forward,and another with only a handful of first-team games on the bench.
