Considering how bad they are going there is really only 1 man you can give this award to and that is Brett Morris. Merrin may provide some sort of challenge for the award but it would have to be out of them for sure.

Possibly Mitch Rein as another contender. He would be rookie wouldn't he or did he play last season?

Brett has been outstanding filling in 2 positions. It is a shame he may win this after a dissapointing season.

Absolute worst performance was Price. From poor recruitment selections interchanges and press conferences. On your bike before 2013 becomes worse

Bmoz for sure. Rein has had a decent year. Creagh is the fall guy, gets battered thanks to the worst service in the league.

Morris by the length of the straight at Royal Randwick. Rein, Flo, Merrin and Weyman can hold their heads up as well. The rest didn't offer much.

BMoz then daylight, his stats every week are amazing and he is the only strike weapon in the team. Nighty has also been great, it is just a shame he is at the back and expected to be everything and more.

Agree with all these posts, Nightingale was still outstanding all year, his heart was as big as ever, but he has been frustrated by his teammates, and really he has been plugging holes all year.

Morris was the only player that really stood out and prevented us from being a laughing stock.... Rein was better than expected, Merrin was solid.. Creagh definitely copped a raw deal, a bit like Flo he plugged the holes and put his body on the line, but suffered from a terrible attacking structure.

B Moz, Nighty, Merrin. If all our forwards were as good as Merrin we would not lose too many games.

Nightingale got it last year.

This year it will be between Merrin/Morris/Rein.

IMO Merrin has been our best and most consistent player for 2012. What an outstanding prospect, he is still 22 years old! We were down on front row stocks this year and he really stood up and led by example... a shining light in and other wise forgettable year.

Cant wait to get Beale in next year so Nighty can go back to the wing and on his preferred side I hope. Price has tinkered so badly with the team just to fit Vidot in the team.

Yep, plus teams are waiting for him now as his role on the left-side attack has no variety or the timing is out & he attempts to catch a cut-out pass.

Agree with the majority for best this year - Morris, Merrin, Nightingale & Rein. You'd think that having 2 guys from the back 3 would mean plenty of tries, but we all know how that's worked out. The problem there has been no continuity in the centres ( plus 3 different fullbacks ) added to some ordinary service & being fair to those inside, all those factors have combined for a massive impact on our attack.

Honourable mention to Dan Hunt who I thought played some tough consisitent footy up front. Latimore's and Rein's contributions were a pleasant suprise at different times of the season.

Merrin and Rein in particular are two guys who have gone forward in terms of their skills and ability to contribute this year.

Unfortunately the same 4 get tossed up as the best for the year because quite frankly the rest have been poor. Especially the halves (most notably Hornby unfortunately).

If Weyman stayed fit he would have had a few votes.
