Looks like a load of rubbish.

What was that story from a few years ago when Saints players were accused of partying too loudly in a motel/hotel?

It turned out the whinging guest got the players mixed up some other guests. The manager even said the players were well behaved, but they still ran a misleading headline anyway.

I wish I could find it but google is not delivering the goods.

This latest story has a lot of similarities.

Dragons deny hotel rampage
Written by: League news
August 6th 2007 04:45 PM

St George Illawarra officials have denied reports their players took part in a night of over-the-top partying following their win over Newcastle on Friday night.

A guest of the Crowne Plaza Newcastle fired off an email to Fairfax media today alleging that Dragons players had run through the halls of the hotel making loud noises into the early hours of Saturday morning.

It was also claimed they were responsible for breaking a statue in the hotel foyer.

But Dragons officials claim their investigations found no complaints had been lodged to hotel management about the team's behaviour and that the statue had been broken by a third party.

The Dragons beat the Knights 20-4 at EnergyAustralia Stadium on Friday night to keep their slim finals hopes alive.

Official Statement from Dragons club:

Today there has been speculation by both the media and by an individual, about the Dragons and their behaviour, in their hotel, in Newcastle, after the match on Friday night.

It is not satisfactory to hear that an individual would criticise any of the Dragons players for being rude to the staff of the hotel. The Management of the hotel advise however, that the staff have not complained about the manner of any of the Dragons players.

It is also not satisfactory an individual would criticise any of the Dragons players for creating unnecessary noise in the hotel, as such a person should expect to be able to satisfactorily enjoy the environment of the hotel in which they are staying.

In saying that however, there was certainly no complaint from the Management of the Hotel about noise or damage to the any of the rooms in the hotel, as has been asserted.

The Club is advised that the General Manager of the hotel has no complaint to register against the club or players.

Certainly any damage to hotel property, namely a statue, was not caused by a Dragons player.

Well if the hotel is siding with the players, it can only be a bullsh*t story.

The author, Dylan Welch, hasn't bothered to check the source. Or possibly Dylan just made it up.

Dylan Welch's previous works include:

1. A blog on dating called: 'catch and kiss'.
2. An 'investigative' piece on primary school teachers suffering from an inferiority complex - rivetting stuff and something that I'm sure Dylan can relate to.
3. A 'world's worst' article on silly criminals, aptly entitled: 'Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest.'
4. A gripping tale about TV host Jessica Rowe hurting her wrist. "I was walking down our front steps and I slipped because the steps were really wet," Rowe said.

It certainly seems that Dylan Welch gets all the big stories.

It was probably Matthew Johns trying to get us into trouble!

I'm led to believe that it was actually Hasam El Masri and Adam Houda having a coffee that caused all the noise.;-)

I've got a mate who works at the Crowne Plaza in Newy. He said that while it wouldn't have made news if it wasn't associated with the Dragons, there was a bit of an incident last Friday night.

Nothing real big. Nothing illegal. More something that those with higher morals would look down upon.

I know what happened, and who it is rumoured to be, but a public forum probably isn't the place to post it huh? ;-)
