There has been a lot of talk of who we need to recruit and I thought I would have a bit of a look at how our Salary cap structure should look.
The cap hasn't been set yet but lots of talk that it will be around 10 mil. With this is mind this is how it could roughly be broken down.
Squad ranking Annual salary % of cap
1 $ 1,000,000 10%
2 $ 800,000 8%
3 $ 700,000 7%
4 $ 600,000 6%
5 $ 500,000 5%
6 $ 400,000 4%
7 $ 400,000 4%
8 $ 400,000 4%
9 $ 400,000 4%
10 $ 400,000 4%
11 $ 400,000 4%
12 $ 400,000 4%
13 $ 400,000 4%
14 $ 400,000 4%
15 $ 400,000 4%
16 $ 400,000 4%
17 $ 400,000 4%
18 $ 100,000 1%
19 $ 100,000 1%
20 $ 100,000 1%
21 $ 100,000 1%
22 $ 100,000 1%
23 $ 100,000 1%
24 $ 100,000 1%
25 $ 100,000 1%
This come to 9.2 million so leaves plenty of room to adjustment someone up or do our usual and pay someone to play for another club. It also doesn't take into account discounts for long service players or third party payments.
There would obliviously be some adjustments in the 18-25 and 6-17 range with some getting a bit less and some getting a bit more.
We probably have about 6-10 players who I would be happy to slot into a cap like that.
Teddy is worth a mill a year.
I'd have Woods at about 500,000.
Brooks and Moses I'd take at the 6-17 squad number range so offer them $400 or tell them to f**k off.
Nofa, Sue and maybe Taylor are also worth starting money in the 6-17 range.
We are paying Suli in that range aswell and as long as he is a starting and looking ok that seems fine.
Ava, Mcillwick, Littlejohn, Grant, Kev should probably be in that 18-25 range.
given we had salary cap dramas at the start of the year there must be some ridiculous contracts for the lower tier player.
We know Lawrence is massively overpaid, but we must be paying 200K for a lot of our chumps who should be on the min of 85K like Lovett and Edwards.
sorry that is a bit of a ramble and had to get it done during work
