Well done Salford. Very good defence against St.Helens. Karl Harrison has got them playing 100% and although no stars can match even a star studded team like the Saints. Good to see a small team do very well

Neither side was very good IMO.Saints in attack were very poor.

Come on Homer, give them some credit. The defending was magnificent from both sides, fast straight defensive lines, massive impact and total commitment from both sides. The intensity didn't let up all night either, the match was breathless.

Sure there wasn't much flowing rugby to crow about this time, but the d was outstanding. The attacking wasnt too bad either, Salford did everything right up to the final pass a few times and Saints had all the inventiveness and angles they normally parade over teams with.

I think the video ref was Saints best player. Both of their tries were dodgy. Hooper definitely lost the ball over the line and Hardman must be up for the 2012 Olympics if he can move that fast to get onto Long's kick without being offside. The video ref never looked at that.

I don't know what they did in the off-season but Salford are on fire. For a side full of no frill players, they are definately taking it to the top. In the few games Foxtel has shown the Reds, they seem to be going well... it's a shame we don't get more coverage.

I don't know about off-season MrC but Harrison has been building his team for a few years and now it seems to be paying off.
