I read an article the other day about all the young prospects the Wests Tigers have in their squad, one of these players was a kiwi prop by the name of Sam Moa. However when I had a look in Big League and the all the Tigers websites I could not see one mention of Moa in any squad. Could someone please inform me on where this young talent is located and where he is playing. Also is he good enough to break into first grade sometime in 2004?

i think he is still at the school that benji came from if memory serves me correctly..
he's on a scholarship or something like benji was.. which means i guess whe nhe finishes his schooling and if wests tigers are still keen to persue him he'll be added to one of our squads and given a proper contract

Pretty much what BJ said. I think he's still at school at Keebra Park in QLD, although I have no idea how old he is and havn't heard any thing since last year so he might have left school by now.

Tim Sheens was asked about him in a Q & A sesion on the official forum,i cant remember exactly what he said but it was something like he is on a programe to prepare his body for the NRL and they have high hopes etc etc.

Moa is over the 100 kg mark, has good speed and plenty of ball skills and reading between the lines Tim Sheens has absolutely no doubt this kid will make it,a game or two at the back end of the year ala Benji would not surprise me ;-)

sheens response was

To develop him at junior level first then work to get him physically ready for NRL over the next two years.
