Same problems.

Each game is the same. We need a halback who can guide a team around the field. Who can provide quality ball to our outside backs. Who can kick a ball that doesn't go straight to the opposition fullback/wingers and even get us a repeat set by kicking it in goal now and again. Our kicking game is so unthreatening it is cringeworthy.

No point signing blokes like Poore (don't get me wrong good signing) if our halves can't capitalise off the back of their good work.

Agree. Our main problem this year has been our inability to score points because of a lack of a quality halfback.

This post will get a yawn, stop living in the past, he was crap, lol another Tim Smith post responses but seriously Tim Smith could solve our problems. I can't comprehend how we aren't considering signing him when we don't have an established halfback and have the means to buy one.

Yep i'm all for Tim Smith to come and play for us. 100% behind the idea.

Not only coz I love him, but can somebody here can name us a better suggestion? Other than K. Keating who I also believe in strongly.

The attacking prowess we would have with Smith, Mateo, Keating, Mortimer, Kelly, Hayne, Inu and Grothe could be scary. Brand new forward pack laying a solid platform and hopefully 3/4's of the players I mentioned above carving opposition defenses to shreds..

Huh, what? Sorry I must have dozed off into a day dream.

It would be a fairytale if he did. But TBH, he has had alot of chances. Your case for a better option is a good one. Personally I would wait and throw heaps at Thurston. (now for people to say that he will never come to Parra, bla bla bla, last year we would have thought the same about Poore and years ago, the same about Riddell, Tahu and Morrison)

bring back mateo and keating and i recon our attack would be a lot better.

We didnt just turn into the 2nd worst attacking team after those two were injured.
We had a poor attacking record with them guiding the team around.

A good halfback is our No 1 priority.

A dynamic dummy half is just as important.

There are more class 9's on the market and in the game than 7's.

How many clubs would be regularly happy with the performance of their 7? Not that many I reckon.

I'm not sold on it being solely because of the halfback and five eight. The players around them have to give them options instead of standing looking for the ball. Hayne and Burt were the only two players looking for the ball and when they were wrapped up the halves had little options.
