"Same Tackle Scrum Feed" rule

They should consider bringing in a "same tackle feed" (STF) rule.

For example: it could be used where the ball has gone into touch off the defender from a kick. It shouldn't matter whether the defensive player has "played at" the ball or not (too difficult to determine often times). Whether it has been played at or not the feed should go to the kicking team but it should still be the same tackle. So the scrum is fead and it is still last tackle or whatever.

I would also consider using that when a player knocks on in attempting an interception. Attacking team gets feed but it remains the same tackle.

I also think that if the kicking team recovers the ball after a charge down it should not restart their tackle count.

Why not just leave things the hell alone?

Because as if the game is perfect. Going by the constant whinging about things from fans and coaches etc, those who think the game is perfect are in the minority.

Classic Banana Bread Recipe

  • 90g unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

  • 1 cup (220g) firmly packed brown sugar

  • 2 eggs (large)

  • 1 cup mashed bananas

  • 1 cup (150g) plain flour

  • 1 cup (150g) self-raising flour

  • Optional

  • 2 teaspoons Strawberry Jam

  • 1/2 Cup Walnuts

  • 1.

Preheat oven to 180c/160c Fan Forced.

  • 2.

Grease 14cm x 21cm loaf pan and line base and long sides with baking paper, extending paper 5cm above long sides. Add some extra oil or butter to help stick the baking paper to the pan if needed.

  • 3.

Beat butter, vanilla extract and sugar in a small bowl until light and fluffy.

  • 4.

Beat in eggs one at a time. Transfer to large bowl and stir in Banana, then sifted flours, in 2 batches. After this, you can fold in the walnuts into the mix, if desired. Spread mixture into the pan.

  • 5.

Cover pan with pleated foil, and bake for 40 mins.

  • 6.

Uncover and bake for a further 30 mins. Test if ready by inserting a knife into the center and it should come up clean. Stand for 5 mins and cool on wire rack.

  • 7.

Optional Glaze - In the last 5 mins of baking, quickly heat up the 2 teaspoons of jam in the microwave for 10 secs until melted. (If not, use 5 sec intervals until jam has melted). Spread melted jam over the top of the bread and return to oven for the last 5 mins.

  • 8.

Slice when cooled, and keep in an air tight container.

  • 9.

You can toast the banana bread to re-heat it when eating.

  • 10.

Serve plain, with butter or with jam.

Can I use vanilla essence in place of vanilla extract?

How about you head back to BF and suggest this as alternate to whatever rules that game has.

the STF rule would take decisions out of the hands of the refs..."was it played at?" There are 2 or 3 decisions in each game like that that piss people off.

Thats just typical LU hyperbole.
The STF rule would solve some problems.

so lets get this lunacy of yours straight

the 5th PTB
a kicker kicks the ball into a defender that finds touch

you want the ball brought in , a scrum fed by the kicking side , & 1 more tackle played before the ball is probably kicked again into touch again where we have ............................... another scrum !!

you are a F wit
end of

that would be one possibility. There would probably be an attacking kick or a set play though as the low type of kick that results in a deflection into touch usually happens in the opposition half.

The "no tackle restart after recovered charge down" rule change is a absolute no brainer. I am not saying it has to be brought in. I am saying it would improve the game if it was brought in.
We would see more charge down attempts - probably more time spent at training working on charge down techniques and most importantly would put loads more pressure on the kicker - as there should be.

You want more scrums and a change to the 40/20 rule that'll see more kicking. 3 point field goals next?

Well I'd probably get rid of scrums and just have a play the ball.
Increasing the value of filed goals to 2 would not hurt and decrease conversions to 1 point.
