SBW to the Raiders?

A few things to point out, raiders have the money to throw at him, also don furner is keen to talk to him to get some idea on whether there is interest from sbw to return to league.

Personally I don't care what he did at the bulldogs! We gotta take a risk and get a genuine superstar. I doubt he would be interested in coming our way even if we had the cash.. Would you guys be glad he signed with us?

Also I know this is just speculation and would probably fade away in a few days but still interested in the response by the fans. I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting him here at the club.

We would be the last team he would come to but if he said yep I'll come then hell yes I would take him.

So a bit of money is going be freed up at the end of 2010 then.

While I'd be more than happy to see him in lime green, I can't imagine he's going to be too keen on it!

If we've got this much money to spend, lets put in a bid for Mick Monaghan for god sake, get us a halfback to compliment Campo (and to keep Tongue out of the halves!).

Yea I agree, we could be like Souths given what I've seen of them so far. Brilliant forward pack on paper but no halfback to lead the team around. Should be a halfback willing to accept the case we could have.

We couldn't keep Nathan Smith at the raiders... we are no chance of SBW.

I say we be realistic and throw Shane Perry, Michael Witt, or Brent McConnell some money to come and have a go in the 7 for us.

If we are going for not big named halfbacks then we may as well go for one of the youngsters. Ben Hunt could struggle to break into the Broncos, Beau Henry looks a talent as well. Of course our very own Sam Williams isn't too bad either.

McCrone and Herbert are both better than any of those players. Wii in particular - he's quiet as a mouse on field. Not what you need if you're after an organiser at all.

Just throwing it out there, but maybe Moltzen from the tigers is worth a shot? He's very talented, but with a fair bit of NRL experience considering his age. And Sheens has decided he'll only get the fullback gig if Tuqiri doesn't work out. If it does, he'll be playing reserve grade.

He played six games at halfback for the Tiges last year, and they won every single one of them. Plus he's used to playign with a very dynamic five-eighth outside him. Could be worth a look.

Like i said i know it wont happen, but just trying to see what the fans think of approaching williams camp despite his past. obviously everyone is basically on the same page "He shouldnt have done what he did...but his so awesome I want him at the club".

Yeah unless your that club your not going to completley care what he did, similarly Like Roosters with carney today they are glad right now he messed up with the raiders

Just a thought on SBW...

He's 24, his best days (injury pending) should be in front of him.

It would be reasonable if he didn't want to stay in the low level French Rugby comp.

The obvious option for him is to try and work his way into the All Blacks squad for the Union WC next year.

But what if he doesn't think he can cut it...

All of a sudden returning to the NRL may be a lot more attractive.

And say the Doggies request $1.5 mill, to allow a club to 'release' him, a lot of clubs aren't going to be able to afford that.

I reckon the Raiders various associated clubs could rustle up a fair bit of coin.....

That's just a wild theory, but you never know!

Like I said above, I'd prefer to buy Mick Monaghan and work our salary cap around the youth rather then dropping big big dollars on one player.

Yeah Mick Monaghan would be awesome, a crap player that couldnt crack it 10 years ago when we were absolute junk. How could you possibly rather Monaghan signing with us than SBW?

But yeah lets sign a player that previously has had no impact at our club, is in the back end of his career and hasnt played halfback for the last 5 years.
