Scott Donald on the market IF Hoppa re-signs

Heard on the radio yesterday that if Hoppa ends up taking the deal Manly have offered, then Scott Donald (20 tries last year???) will be on the market.

Is he someone we should go after? We're not blessed with brilliant finishers on our wings at present...

I'm not a big fan, though I try to avoid watching Manly games. Another one possibly on the market is John Carlaw.

JOHN Carlaw has been a victim of the salary cap in the past and fears it has come back to haunt him once again.

The 29-year-old, who linked with St George Illawarra earlier in the year on a one-year incentive deal, would love to remain a Dragon in 2005 but feels his time at the club will end at the completion of this season.

The journeyman centre, who has had stints with Hunter, Wests Tigers, Melbourne and the Warriors, isn't even sure whether he will get an opportunity to continue his NRL career next year but if he does, he is pretty confident it won't be with the red and whites.

As much as I'd love Mellor back, sadly he has not set the world on fire over in the UK. He would need to return to his 200/2001 form to be worth anything. AND he didn't leave in the best circumstances, although the clowns that pressured him out are now goooorrrne themselves!

Don't forget, he's hardly a young'un anymore either, he'd have to be 29 or 30 by now, based on him making his first grade debut at 16 (almost 17) in about 1992.

What would be the point of having two fast wingers who f**k up? Rieck is a good defender and under the high ball is safe. I don't see the value is spending money on Donald(don't think he would be cheap) when he would only be holding back PELO 8)
