Well, we've obviously been written off after getting bashed by Melbourne (Despite 3 of our last four finals exits happening in the exact same fashion!), so that helps.

Depends on what Tooves can actually do with the side with the benefit of a full offseason without any drama. It's basically his chance to prove that he's worth a damn as a coach. I feel he did an excellent job this year from a motivational point of view, but the game plan, with the forwards getting longer in the tooth, meant they were out on their feet by the time they got to Melbourne and the side suffered as a consequence.

I don't think Des or Tooves have ever properly utilised the ball playing talent at their disposal, and I suppose the style of football they played meant it didn't have to be. For us to be any chance next year, I think Tooves has to start playing to that strength. Because our forwards don't realistically have the engines to keep it up for an entire season at the pace they've traditionally gone.

I'm confident. I think Tooves is the right kind of coach for such a game plan.

As they used to say on the Official website back in the sh*thouse years... Time will tell.

Toovey seemed to have a more off the cuff attacking style as opposed to the machines that Hasler created, I'd like to see the defensive structure and attitude vs shit teams fixed up

I don't think Des could've beaten fourth as we were spent by the end of it all

Towards the end of the regular season (Beyond the Warriors game) the structure seemed to be in place, the footy wasn't terribly imaginative, they seemed to be putting in just enough effort but they were clearly unable to find the next level.

I initially thought it was attitude, but in hindsight I think they were extremely well focussed for a side that was clearly running on fumes. I think they did well to keep it together as long as they did. Just a shame it had to end in a customary Storm tonking.

I do have to admit I only see about half of the games, as Setanta doesn't always have it on and Fridays and Mondays are a wipeout for me.

This side can't rely on the forwards battle any more. But we've got enough tools in the playmaker department to do something a little different and be successful.

i also think we got better as the yr progressed,unfortunately the style we play is hard to play all yr round.but makes supporters proud thatwe are 1 of the toughest in the comp.
imho without williams we will actually have 13 on the park instead of 12 which will be a tad bit easier on the others
tooves just has to be his own man and make his own rules to get this team firing.as for the original question GF win would be nice.but.........
sometimes other teams have to win otherwise it will get boring!!!
