Sea Eagles v Panthers

So this week we face the out of form but still star riddled team in the Panthers.

They’ll be looking to get their season back on track by knocking over the strong defending sea eagles.

I’m a bit worried about this game, our boys have hit a bit of a lull in attack but still are very strong in defence (especially in the back end of games). The panthers defence has been nothing short of atrocious out wide with their centres rivalling our centres as the poorest in the comp. On their day the panthers can run riot over teams but atm they lack cohesion and confidence.

It really is a 50/50 game and we need to win this one to keep us clear of the dog fight for positions 4-12

BK said before the Bulldogs game that good teams hardly ever lose twice in a row. We will see if that is true and whether the boys can show some sort of attack on Sunday.

With Dunley looking at a lengthy stint on the sideline for spitting who will replace him? IMO we definitely need someone that can add spark to the attack late in the 1st and 2nd half. WE CAN NOT HAVE RANDALL STARTING AND WILLO AS A BACK UP! IT WILL BE COMMITTING SUICIDE IMO!

A couple of possible options would be to bring up Balin from PL and start him on the bench. He has great vision and good short kicking game. Another option would be to bring Lennon onto the bench and whack him into the no.7 with Mona’s moving to no.9.

What do you guys think?

Anyway, if I was Des this would be my team for round 12:

1.Stewart
2.Donald
3.Hill
4.Alberts (I think he is going to be a really good player for manly in months to come. He has a great step and can set his winger up)
5.Hicks
6.Witt
7.Monaghan
8.Bryant (he is a workhorse much like Hecks, he will complement Kite’s game to a tea. King has been way to soft of late)
9.Williamson
10.Kite
11.Beaver
12.Watmough (hopefully he’ll back up from the hip flexer injury)
13.Kennedy

14.Balin
15.Leuluai
16.Harris
17.King
18.Stewart
19.Curtis
20.Randall

Come on Manly, let’s get back in the winners circle with another win at the fortress.

2 points to Manly if John Lang picks the same team.

Penrith need a shuffle up.. I'm confident however, that it wont happen.

Agreed MQ. Chad isn't up to standard atm, it's time to give Ballin a go.

Can't say I argue with your side at all. On form I'd rather have Glenn on the bench infront of Kingy. But we'll need the extra prop to match the Panther pack. Especially with Hecks out.

The Dunley decision could go either way. IMO there isn't enough evidence to prove that Shayne delibrately spat on PJ. Spitting in general is quite a general occurance in League, this may have been just a golly that went wrong.

But then again, it could have been something else. Let's face it, Dunley isn't exactly a saint.

I have faith, but I think tipping a Panthers victory is stretching it a bit too far... hopefully we put up a better fight than the rubbish that was served up against Cronulla.

I hope BK and Choc backup, I reckon they have to find room for G Stewart fantastic tackle count and his preformance , my only problem with last fridays game is that i though Kyle L didnt have enough game time, was he injured?

I doubt that Choc will back up from SOO, his hip flexor injury might get the better of him. BK will probably be rested too.

Is Matt Ballin still injured?

Ballin is listed of the bench in PL, with Robson the number nine.

I really hope BK and Choc play.

Christ, we're the experiment team again.

The team where other teams try new combinations because assured of two points....ahhh the good old days.

I'm a little worried about this game. Manly have had the habit of playing "down" to teams, by that I mean lowering their intensity and skill level to equal the opposition, no matter how crap they may be going. That's why so many teams in the middle of bad runs seem to find some sort of form against them.

Terry Hill is once again due for the badly timed groin/hamstring strain at training or at the warm up, so I wouldn't be surprised if he is out.

Having said that, Manly by plenty anyway.

I hope you are wrong....we need both of them out there for this game, 2 points is vital to our season right now if we want to stay with the top 6 teams!

I reckon Gower will have a blinder on Sunday. There is a rep jersey up for grabs if he can turn it on.

I still think Manly will get home though at Brookie.

only thing that'll change with that is Penrith will need to be wearing raincoats when they take the field.

Terry Hill and Shane Dunley....spitstorm
