You two both know you aren't going to change each others minds, right?

It's called perspective. I presume you didn't let your kids ride a bike seeing as it's deadlier than the virus ...

Yes but I can demonstrate the flaws in his arguments quite easily and there's some chance it might help others.

So the level of risk and the associated response is a straw man argument?

I'm surprised one hasn't told the other to f**k off yet. It would put an end to this back and forth nonsense.

At some point you'd imagine they will just have to pull the trigger and let it rip.
If we won't have a vaccine and it spreads so easy what is the answer? Keep locking down once have outbreaks? Never have overseas flights? I mean we have bought time while preparing medical systems and trying to find a vaccine. But at some point things will have to go back to normal.

Normal is now gone, when we return to normal, it won't be the normal you were looking for.

I don't beleive this. Even prior to the Melboutne outbreak normal had returned. Complacency slipped in and old habits flooded back.

    Had it though?

Lot's of businesses were still closed, a whole heap of people were ( still are ) on jobkeeper or jobseeker that were working in those businesses, it might not have affected you, It really hasn't affected me yet.

But I f**king guarantee it will, a lot of people don't remember what recession looks like, or even accept what happens in the aftermath. Our last one changed things in a heap of different ways, for a heap of people, this one probably will too.

I was not meaning financially. I meant the way people act and what we do.
But financially is hard to say. The economy looks screwed but it was strong prior to this so the bones where good. Once things blow over I can see a fast recovery. I reckon lead by construction.

The thing about the economy is that it's made up of people,

And TBH if you think the economy was strong before this, you haven't been paying enough attention.
