My view:
Option 1. The naysayers are 100% correct. BA can’t coach for shit. There’s club infighting and BA is gone by August. We don’t make finals.
Option 2. The naysayers are half right. BA can coach but overthinks this year. We start like we ended this year. There is either back office mistrust and BA goes mid year, or club back him and his 2022 tenure ties to the 21 final result.
Option 3. BA and the players are steeled by some of the negativity. Certain players refind form and we emulate the Panfas from this year. Final result still important but unlikely to affect BAs 2022 tenure.

I’m hoping for 3, expecting some degree of 2, and at least option 1 will unite the fanbase somewhat.

Yep I can see us making a play for Crighton if the Roosters are keen to offload him. Would allow Lane to move to the bench in Evans’ role.

I do feel he’s the type to flog that horse. If he is brought in and that scenario happens, I’d be very disappointed in management. Yes it’s a results business and no we don’t want yes men, but if Flanagan is brought in just to set BA up to fail, that’s a f**ked move

Yep, it's a bit of an old-school mentality I reckon. Having someone looking over your shoulder will make you perform better whereas, from my experience, well run teams where people are trusted to work with autonomy are far more successful.
That doesn't mean that BA doesn't need help. My opinion is that BA needs a better coaching team around him. I think he's done a pretty good job in one of the most scrutinised teams in the NRL and with a fanbase that is desperate for results. He deserves a bit of respect for that.
