There’s an opinion point that our then coach Matthew Elliot didn't foster the talents of the like of Jarrod Sammut and throw Wade Graham as well into the same discussion. There were others.

I kind off liked Matt Elliot, his honesty, integrity he was very approachable and engaging with the fans and my family benefited from that on a number of occasions. On one occasion during an away trip to GC we were staying at the team hotel and he went out of is way to join our table at breakfast and thank us for our support.

At the end of the day his tenure is not fondly remembered by most fans, maybe rightly so, but he had a lot working against him. He was doomed to fail, certain administrators and some players made sure of that.

EllIiot may well have been a great person, but couldn’t Coach a Choko vine over a shit house. His main problem was Sammut having some time around his daughter, or so I was told at the time by some in the know.

I actually work with a bloke who played under Elliott back in the day.

It could be worse.

Lang was clearly out of ideas when Penrith hired Elliot.

The Raiders had all but signed Bellamy until Elliot came to his interview with a PowerPoint presentation...

What a sliding doors moment.

PowerPoints were pretty powerful tools back in the day.

Most of us were struggling with Microsoft Word so to put a power point together would have been compelling.

I think its a better team on paper. Not by much but hopefully Casey, Blaize even ALamoti continue to develop. And last season had we finished top four i think we'd have been there on GF day
The top 4 finish would have had everyone worried.
Hindsight is beautiful especially nowadays that we all know Cronulla are a fake team come finals time and it looks like the Raiders will be the same. They beat up on the lesser sides during the regular season and shit themselves in finals.
The extra chance last season would have helped immensely.

Has Blaize bulked up. He needs to repair his defense. I'm sure it will come with time.
He also played a very limited role last year. I expect him to get a larger part.

Penrith,Brisbane,Roosters. I imagine winner comes from those 3 and maybe Storm whk cant write off. But they have copped some player losses. And also have this court case and possible illegal contact with a player under contract
