Covid scuppered it last time

the article mentions a big reason to do it is the sports gambling market in the us which the nrl is trying to get a share of.

You obviously would want a cracker game that would have high TV ratings and superstar power right across the park with 2 teams full of house hold names

Tigers v Titans

'Fans have rallied behind it'

WTF does that mean? lol. Some random souths fan on twitter said it was a good idea?

How anyone thinks a one off game in a place with no RL presence is going to make a jot of difference is beyond me. If you want to get serious NRL buy a stake in the NARL and make it a success! For a relatively low investment (say $2mill a year) it could be the kick start that finally sees the game get some traction in Nth America. Then when it has a footprint and interest take Internationals, NRL and SOO to boost that interest.

Firstly, Twitter NRL fans aren't real fans. The real fans write letters!

Secondly, do you really expect the NRL to actually invest money to grow the game? They can't be bothered growing it outside of two states in this country.
