Saw a lady on the ABC who got a flat battery, hollered for Marshall, presented herself at the border with receipts for the new battery only to be told that she missed the deadline. Not negotiable. She took it with good grace and acknowledged that there was a line in the sand etc. She has applied for an exemption.
I hope she bought a CENTURY. Those bloody batteries are amazing. I bet now she wish she did the first time around. A valuable lessened learned.
Yep, she was not locked up for 14 days though, right? OR was she? I can't tell what you are stating and can't find a source. George isn't asking to be allowed to wander around Melbourne. He is asking to be able to return home, which sounds pretty reasonable to me.
Unless they change the rules in the next few hours, I could fly to Melbourne and go shopping, drinking, golfing and farting today.
Well she was denied the right to cross the border and go home by vehicle. if she arrived by plane she would have to go into quarrantine. She is experiencing her own version of angst caused by strict pandemic protocols. I not debating the level of suckness, I am merely offering her pragmatic attitude vs George's whingefest. As I write this the ABC are reporting that 1 person in 50 in the UK has the covid. Suck it up George.
After the debacle and fallout in Vic over the failures of quarantine and the subsequent explosion in cases, I wouldn't be surprised at all that even the lowliest of officials would be erring on the side of blanket authoritarianism regards entries and quarantine. No merkin would want to be "that guy" responsible for a breach that replicated the result of the previous one. Self preservation is a thing.
If only he had taken his tennis raquet ... he might have been able to get some 5 star digs and got to move around
Well, they're doing a pretty good job of stuffing things up again. https://www.smh.com.au/national/cor...ate-exposure-list-20210106-p56rzi.html#p51prd One might even think that lots of the people that are supposed to be running this are on holiday?
