Very good win by the SuperHeroes.
And while we didn't play as well as last week, we had too much class and skill.
Now we face the Forces of Evil for an almighty battle to save the city.
Hopefully Tatola doesn't get suspended because he was huge last night

Bit of a late reaction to the game because I went out straight after the game to celebrate. Got pretty hammered and have a very sore head this morning hahaha.

But man, oh man, it's all worth it and I am so frigging happy today after last night!! Through to the Prelim!! Our fifth consecutive Prelim!! That is simply incredible. No words can describe it. Everyone wrote us off mid-year, our own fans, myself included, started to question things but now look at us. We are potentially just 80 minutes away from a Grand Final. Could not be prouder, I had tears in my eyes at full time.

It was a great performance from our boys, without being great if that makes sense. Our completion rate was terrible, and our execution was very off at times. However, the desire and heart that was on show was simply outstanding. And despite not being at our best, we were too good for the second placed Sharks. Gave them nothing and completely outplayed them.

The defence especially was just incredible for mine. It was like a wall against one of the best attacking sides in the comp. They scored a try off a kick (which we couldn't do much about) and another off an error from us but that was it! Aside from that, we held them out every time. Plenty thrown at us, plenty turned away. That was all heart and desire!

And while we left a lot out there, the attack was still humming when we needed it too. The boys stood up and got the job done. Right side stole the show last night, some beautiful play.

Part of me can't believe it but part of me fully expected it! Either way, so happy and so proud. We are coming!!!!!

big hit!

To be honest, I was not confident seeing the team list and the Souths bench for last night. But Cronulla were like deer in the headlights for a final. The opening Nicholls try really set the tone. That was Rd 3 defence from a bottom 8 side type of shit, not what you'd expect from the 2nd seed in a final.

The Souths boys have been there, done it, and knew what they had to do. Won the ruck comprehensively to set up the momentum to win last night.

Cronulla were always a fraud #2. As I stated pre match their "schedule" was a joke. Not only the last 6 or so "games". But they played both NQ and Melbourne during SOO and hence met severly weakened opposition. And for the record, Easts smashed them.
We have to re-assess Demetriou. He, like Ilias has improved 150% and that has made us very dangerous. The players appear to like him and he has the locker room. And unlike Burt, he has not been on the end of any real embarrassing beltings. This squad has earned every right to win something given Mitchell's absence for 10 games or so plus our horror schedule in the last 8 games. A horror schedule that had most boasting [e.g, Buzz Head & Kent or should that name be written C...] no playoffs for Demetriou. We should be proud because we have a pulsating, machine like football team that can sink anyone when they are focused and ready, including Iron Head and his gang.
In the upcoming confrontation, we must get after Iron Head, knock him around from the get go and do not allow them to bully us in tight corners following his endless high punts. Then get after them with some attack.
Ilias spoke brazenly in the vestiaries after the Cronulla flogging. He stated, when asked on how to torpedo Iron Head's gang, that to beat these Westies they had to stop Luna Park and Kikau down our right edge. It was very technical what the young guy said and I was impressed. Ilias said much more than merely "oh well, We'll just do our best... see what happens". I was taken aback by how bold and direct he was and how much precise detail he provided. You all should review it because if we can field a strong enough unit, upset alert may be on the cards. Happened before.
