...Is a good little appetiser at http://www.nrl.com/sideline/1970s.cfm .

One thing I've noticed, though. The picture next to the St George-Illawarra vs Parramatta preview:

retro_dragonseels_thumb.jpg

Is that actually St George-Illawarra's emblem? Rather than St George's?

Would seem odd, when all the other clubs have their retro emblems... even the Tigers, which adopts both Balmain and Wests. Bit of a gaffe?

The only difference between St George and St George Illawarra's emblems are that the new one says Illawarra where dragons was.

Im not taking this week seriously.
Just another Failed NRL heritage week.
I would rather see the Roosters play Souths in our full V like we wore in the 74-75 grand finals not our foundation jersey.

Same here, I'd like to see the square Blue Vee that we had in those days, not our cheap 70 year anniversary inception jersey

That said choppies - who cares whether or not it's spot on mate. The NRL is trying. It's a bit hypocritical to slam them for not doing anything and then condemning when they do try.

I think the retro weeks are good but I dont feel its a real retro week if all teams dont take part.
I love it when teams run out in retro jerseys and I support the idea of a full retro week with original designs, not modernised retros like Cronulla 2004 and Brisbane 2003.

We should model it off the AFL and have every team wearing a retro.

Aren't the majority of teams 70s jerseys the same as the 80s jerseys?

I mean that they are going to wear next week compared to last year.

They weren't around in the 70s

St George was, but St George-Illawarra was not. So they can't participate.

That parra logo surfaced in 1977. So a correct Parra logo should be it's predecessor. The Aboriginie with the spear.

77 is still in the 70s, why does everyone have to be f**king picky?

Just shows that St.George Illawarra are really seen by most people as St.George. Whenever they compare past players it is always to St.George and not Illawarra greats. Similar to the perception that Wests Tigers are Balmain, they are always comparing players to former Balmain greats never any Wests players.

Name the Illawarra greats.

No disrespect to the Steelers, but it's a forgone conclusion that St George are going to stick in peoples minds.

It's hard for a team that started in '82 not to be outshone by a team that has won the most grand finals, the most in a row and has produced three immortals and one of the fellas on the NRL trophy.

What does South Sydney have to go with the St George Illawarra Dragons?
