When he's on? He hasn't been on since he played for Tasmania. First century in 3 years when there was absolutely no pressure and his two highest scores that series came when it was all dead and buried.

He should be a specialist "only play when the series us over" batsman.

He's not a top 4 test batsman. As a #6 and with a full bowling load he is a potentially world class player in that role.

He must be demoted, he must be forced to bowl. When he is not fit to bowl he should not be picked. When his movement is "restricted", he should not be picked. He is not good enough when half fit.

His attractive 20s and 30s and 40s and 50s would be just what we need at 6. He has been the one constant presence in our regular top order collapses over what is now several years.

Demote him and bowl him, or else drop him.

:lol: Average below mid 30s?. Get a decent score in a dead rubber once in a blue moon? Don't get him confused with the Watson who plays ODIs who is a consistant gun there in that format

I personally would give him the "live" ashes tests here. If he cant contribute on one of those towards a good win, Id have him on his arse

Faulkner, Henriques all can average the same with the bat and we don't lose anything with the ball (provide they get a inch of a go as Sunshine has had). We could even look to groom a young batsman eg Doolan, Khwaja. Hell even Marcus North is putting his hand up for a serious recall
