Sharks' halfback Scott Porter's has tattoo portrait of his late mother on torso
SHARKS halfback Scott Porter lost his mum last year in sad circumstances but he's determined to remember her forever. During the off-season, the 25-year-old had a giant portrait of his mum, Sharon, tattooed on the right side of his torso.
"I went and got a tattoo and dedicated it to her," Porter told Rugby League Week.
"That way she is always close to my heart. Whenever I get changed to play, I will see the tattoo and think of her ... it will be a nice reminder."
Porter says he could not have coped without the support of his team-mates at the Sharks.
"Everyone at the club has been so understanding and so good to me," he said. "Some time has passed now and in some ways it is easier to cope, but then it is always in the back of your mind. It can play with your head, but that's where the support I have been getting has been so good. I can't thank everyone enough."
Sharon died just six weeks after the halfback made his top-grade debut.
