Holmes isn't a makeshift fullback he spent most of his time there as a junior. His positional play, his strength under the high ball and kick returns bear that out. A few years ago they moved Milford from fullback to the halves to fit them both in an under 20s Origin side.

The issue is it is taking longer than expected for him to find his feet in first grade. He should still be given the rest of the year at this stage and we should re-assess our options this off season when we have two legitimate fullback options.

FFS Inferno! You just don't get it. Common sense is not relevant in this forum! :)

Well IMO Holmes has been very underwhelming at fullback

Huge hopes that he'd kill it.
But nup.
...an off chops Barba was 10x better.

While on the wing that combo he had with bird was lethal.
Tell me Flano won't put Dugan to FB.

Big fan of Val but he's been struggling so far at fullback. Beale has proved in two games that he isnt a fullbacks' arse hole and Birdy has been even worse than Val overall.....no choice but to ride it out for this year anyway. Maybe if we weren't the worst side in the comp for completions and penalties conceded the team would start improving as a whole. 5th spot is flattering given our performances so far this year.

Agree. The comp is a marathon. Lots of twists and turns to go. Timing the run and staying healthy are critical. If this team makes the semis healthy then they have the smarts to get it done. Need a big form reversal though.

I think Flanno went too light weight on the weekend.

I know he's trying to accomodate Capewell and Bukuya in the same team but we are short one prop doing that.

Agree....needed either Lats or Paulo....Think we stick with Capewell with increased minutes but need Paulo's size as opposed to Mortimer from last week.

IfHolmes finds form on the wing, then we are better. Anybody can do what he is doing at the back, especially Bird. Capes is ready to take his place.
