Am I the only one who doesn't rate Shaun Pollock that highly.

Personally I view him as the all-rounder equvalient of Graeme Hick.

Great at building his stats against weaker teams, taking the new ball, pounding the Zimbabwe and Kenyan bowling attacks, but disappearing against good sides ?

Test stats overall indicate a
Batting ave. of 34.54
Bowling ave. of 21.11 (This says he's good)

Vs Australia
Batting ave of 25.27
Bowling ave. of 27.64 (This says Merv Hughes/Jeff Thomson. Good stocks, but not deserving of top 5 bowlers in the world he has had for.. ever it seems, Great pacemen are 21, great spinners are 25)

My view is generally based on the games I've seen him play against Aus, but.. especially his bowling... his action looks ordinary and non-threatening.

He is definatly a good bowler as you don't take over 300 wickets at 21 without being class. I think his batting is over-rated, his technique is fualty and very loose.
