Sheens coaching record

I heard on the radio (1017) that Sheens has only taken a side to the semi finals once in the last 12 years (2005). The guys were talking about great coaches and said that this poor record disqualifies him from earning the title.

I hope Tigers management were listening...

I have been scratching my head for four long years, really the guy is a bit of a myth. He had great success with a team of champions, over the salary cap and the full use of the institute of sport whilst in Canberra and one good year or should I say three months with the tigers in 2005. The rest of his records is pretty dismal.

Tigers management are listening. That's why Steve Folkes is on stand by. If the Tigers don't make the finals, Sheens and Royce will be packing their bags.

If we don't make the finals or don't look like making the finals then we should replace Sheens and Royce. 5 years of not making the finals would be unacceptable, even 4 years is. Anyway a decision shouldn't be made before halfway through the season.

I think Kearney or Folkes would be good replacements. Probably keep Gentle as Assistant Coach. Kearney would have learnt alot under Bellamy in Melbourne and as the Kiwis Coach and it might keep one of our Kiwi stars (you know who) at Wests

I've said it before Sheens is a nice guy and a good media performer and rep for the club (or Australia for that matter) but his coaching record is not good compared to many. I hope that WT are not brow beaten by the Sheens fanclub into re-signing him early in the season before results are shown on the board. There is nothing special about his record.

For my 2 cents I'd be in the market for a new coach anyway- Sheens has been there now since 2003. I reckon its time to move on for the good of both parties. I'm forever grateful for 2005 but...............
