Thought I'd just make one big thread to discuss all the other sides other than NSW without making a string of tiny threads.

Queensland play the Vics later today, both squads line-up as...

Queensland: Chris Hartley (c), Ryan Broad, Cameron Boyce, Joe Burns, Ben Cutting, Peter Forrest, Cameron Gannon, Nathan Reardon, Andrew Robinson, Chris Swan, Wade Townsend, Scott Walter (12th Man TBA)

Victoria: Andrew McDonald (Capt.), Ryan Carters, Jayde Herrick, Peter Handscomb, Alex Keath, Jon Holland, Glenn Maxwell, Clint McKay, Darren Pattinson, Rob Quiney, Peter Siddle, Chris Rogers (12th Man TBA)

Bold indicates debut.

Vics boast more experience, but have a lot of inexperienced players on their roster while Queensland will value the home ground advantage. First game of the season, so it's exciting to see who'll step up and make themselves counted for this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Western Australia:
Marcus North (Captain), Tom Beaton, Michael Beer, Travis Birt, Liam Davis, Matt Dixon, Marcus Harris, Michael Hogan, Michael Johnson, Mitchell Johnson, Adam Voges. Nathan Coulter-Nile (12th Man TBA)

Tasmania:
George Bailey (Captain), Luke Butterworth, Mark Cosgrove, Ed Cowan, Xavier Doherty, Alex Doolan, James Faulkner, Ben Hilfenhaus, Nick Kruger, Adam Maher, Ricky Ponting, Tom Triffitt. (12th Man TBA)

This shapes as a good match, both sides have that combination of youth and experience as well as key internationals.

Let's do it guys!

Marcus Harris from WA is being talked up by Mickey Arthur as a future Australian opener and he's still a teenager.

Haven't seen him bat yet.

Should have highlighted the absentees in the Queensland line-up in Hopes and Lynn. Both are big ommisions and their absence could make a big difference. McGoffin won a spot ahead of Swan and Gannon.

Vics sent Queensland into bat and after a handy start they lost 3/16 to leave the Bulls at 4/177 at tea. Queensland started off well early with opener Robinson looking in control before McKay removed him with a good ball. Then Darren Pattinson struck with two quick wickets to swing the match back.

22 year old Burns (18*) and Reardon (13*) currently occupy the crease.

In WA, the Warriors are trying to rebuild after Butterworth snared 3 early wickets to put them on the back-foot. At 4/103 they've got a long way to go. Young Harris only scored 18 while Captain and Former Test player, Marcus North, only scored 6.

Voges (38*) and Beaton (5*) currently occupy the crease.

If Butterworth could get his batting up he could go in as a batsmen. Will be hard for him to make it as a bowler with Copeland in the side. If Copeland fails then the selectors will be less inclined to take a punt on another bowler with similar pace.

We need to petition somebody to get the SS back on tv

Here here.

Although, I really don't like the success rate of such a method.

WA all out for 176 with Voges top scoring with 58.

Butterworth was pick of the bowlers with figures of 4/34 off 13, Hilfenhaus, Faulkner and Maher shared an even distribution of wickets.

In Queensland, the Bulls are fighting back nicely adding an extra 120 runs to their tally for the cost of only one wicket after they looked shakey when Burns departed quickly after tea.

Looks like Johnson went off injured??

Bulls have done very well to get 300 when being sent in at the Gabba. Still 4 wickets in hand so hopefully they can push to 400.

No wickets for Siddle again, so on and off.
Lucky for Johnson the Test series is a while away but the thought of Bollinger, Copeland and Harris is mouth watering.

Another poor return for Johnson. Honestly, if he had a full season with WA he'd struggle to crack it as a regular in their lineup with the likes of Cameron, Coulter-Nile, Dixon, Duffield and Hogan in the squad.

6 overs of wayward junk then hobbling off injured: ladies and gentlemen, your test 'spearhead'.

If they're so desperate for a bowling all-rounder, what's wrong with Butterworth?

I dont want to wish injury on him but could be a blessing in disguise if he does not get up for the RSA tour.

Johnson apparently was right to bowl this morning but I don't know if he actually took the pill.

He did end up going for 4.6 runs per over on a pitch that had a very green tinge to it.

Michael Hogan, I remember him playing a couple of 20/20 games for NSW, don't remember if he grabbed a start in Shield cricket for NSW, picked up 5fer

Tasmania bowled out for 206, at lunch WA are 0/32
