Marsh falls for 80

But lets face it, with Langer in charge he's going to be picked even if he scored 0

Can we not pick any Tasmanian bowlers for Australia for a couple of years. I mean if they struggle to get SMarsh out, how the hell are the going to get Kholi out.

Renshaw out for a duck this time.
Cricketing gods, why have you abandoned us? Are we really that terrible to be punished so?

Cricketing gods clearly want our starting 11 to be the WA starting eleven...

Who's this Green guy who plays for WA?

Apparently a medium pacer who's averaging 13 in shield cricket....

Heazlett just batted over a day to salvage a draw for Qld. 118n/o off 356 balls. Unreal effort

He's got plenty of talent. Was weird that they threw him in the ODI setup so early, hopefully he hasn't been prematurely written off as a result

Yeh, that was definitely a strange selection. He now averages 54 in List A cricket, hopefully he can continue to make runs in the shield too.

Handscomb scored a quality (by all reports) hundred today, rescuing the Vics from 5/190 odd.

Renshaw hit a 90 and Mitch Darsh is 64 not out...

What a shame the selectors don’t watch shield. All they will see is his score and not that he was plumb lbw on 11 and dropped on 40. Marsh locked in to the team team till 2028.

Is the shield still a thing???

You wouldn’t know it the way the comp has been treated.

mmarsh 134no

the lad just book a seat for the indian and ashes series

In 2057....

Daniel Hughes and Kurtis Patterson with half centuries for NSW, shame neither could kick on. The more form options we have for the Test summer the better given how shit we've been

He'll probably go on to become an all time great after saying this, but Jack Edwards continuing to get a run for NSW having never scored a century in Sydney grade cricket sums up everything that's wrong with Shield cricket at the moment.

What? Why?

The kid got a chance in the ODD stuff and chalked up near on 300 runs at 55. That's pretty impressive at 18. Shouldn't we be giving young talent like that a go?

I mean, we're whinging that ageing average blokes like Shaun Marsh are consistently getting a call up, but then we're also going to whinge when young talented guys are given a chance? How are we ever going to get past picking ageing almost-there players if we don't give the youngsters a run?

Surely showing his ability against state cricketers counts for more than a poxy grade hundred?
