both jaques and hughes have a strike rate of 42. One of them, probably Jaques needs to play that way and be the anchor for the innings. Hughes and others at the other end need to score a lot quicker, losing or drawing the game give tassie the trophy. we need to go for broke right about NOW !!

Being 2/6 we had to consolidate. They are starting to up the ante now. The best way to play this would be for these two to play it like middle overs of a 50 over game. Keep knocking it around and score 4-5 and over with the odd boundary. If they can get to near 200 and then lash out in the last 12 or so overs of the day we can set 250+.

Great to see Hughes back in form.

Easily his worst season and yet ends with 2 tons, 3 50's and a series average well above the career average of some gumbies some people wanted him replaced with.

We have a 200+ run lead with 5 down, we have to declare within 10 overs so hit the ball FFS. So conservative under Mott, no original thought, we HAVE to bat in the normal order regardless of game outlook/strategy according to him and you would think we are the team who needs to draw looking at Neville's batting. I know he just got out there BUT WE NEEDS RUNS SHARPISH.

O'Keefe should have gone in before Katich, while I love Katich he was never going to score too quickly. I think we can do better than Mott.
