Tigers told - get on your bikes

THEY'RE calling it the Tour De Tiger. New Wests Tigers conditioner Steve Folkes has enjoyed an interesting first few weeks in the job after ordering all players to go out and buy themselves a racing bike.

A keen cyclist himself, Folkesy is racing the squad around Centennial Park as part of summer fitness training for 2010.

Meanwhile, we hear the Tigers were all set to snare New Zealand and Melbourne prop Jeff Lima from the final two years of his deal down south . . . until Storm back-rower Dallas Johnson signed in the UK and Lima was ordered to stay put.

Sounds like we made a real play for Lima - much mean we have some money in the bank. The glaring omission in our team for next year is a full back.

I like Tiquiri for fullback - but if we miss out - will be a nice mess - our 2 choices will be:

1. Untested - Larasus - Mollaly (sp.)
2. Moltzen - which opens up half.

I am content with our recruitment for next year - but there is still a very important space there....

That would be Lazarus and Mullaney you are talking about, and I like Moltzen at 1 with Benji and Taumata in the halves.
Mitch Brown is a first grade fullback as well,we are not to bad off.

We still have big question marks over our front row, Cayles was a good pick up but really probably is balanced out by Skando's retirement. People have been throwing a lot of raps around on Woods and Fifta, but their dreaming if they think they could go the pace of FG for more than a few minutes off the bench.

We missed Lima and their is nothing really out their at this late stage in the buying season, maybe Junior Moore will be the answer. Anyway I see some tough days ahead if we get many injuries up front and they will happen

He was one name thrown up as a Plan B if we missed out on Lima, Jaimon Lowe was the other target.

Lowe has signed with a QLD cup team im fairly sure.
Maybe they are just going to save it all for Thurston. Every other club wants him, why not join in

So maybe its down to Clinton - I read the Broncos will grant him a release if he wants it.

I would love to see Moltzen get an entire season at hakfback before we bought anyone. This kid was a junior halfback and showed some promise in the limited opportunities he was given. Give him a go - he WILL be better than Morris. If it doesn't work at the end of the year, chase hard for a 7 next year.

Yeah that would be ideal.

Tigers website has Taumata Sauce listed as a halfback rather than a 5/8 so I'm preparing for a round one of:

1. Moltz
6. Benji
7. Sauce

I reckon we should definitely make some sort of play for Clinton.

x 2 on Clinton - another front rower in case Payten / Cayless & co break down.

Were in talks with him, then slashed their price as they were too busy throwing their money at tuquiri. Offered Lowey minimum wage. Signed with the Northern Pride instead.
