Do you guys think that Newtown should enter the Jim Beam Cup again?

What have you missed out on by not having a Jim Beam Cup team this season?

Do you go to Henson Park less because there is no JBC?

If we could afford it we would. I think it has made a difference to crowd patterns. My observation is that people are coming later to games.

I'm not convinced... With the new PL comp coming in and the lack of recognised clubs that will be playing, the new PL will have the feel of the JBC - Shellharbour, Windsor etc, etc. This will prove a problem for the Jets in terms of marketing as these clubs have virtually no fans and the NRL teams fans they are representing will more than likely not give a toss about them. So with addition cost of running a JBC team I don't see alot of people coming through the gates to see the JBC teams in action and there won't be any additional new Jets fans either.

In saying that, I've missed not having a JBC team, it was always good to have an alternate Jets game to go to if I couldn't get to the PL game.

Finally, no I've not been going less to Henson, but I have been getting there later and spending less money on food and drink as a result.

its hurt the a grade team a lot. We haven't had the access to players on the fringe of JBC or the training sessions with JBC and premier league.

The chance to play JBC was what saw us lose a lot of players this season and any chance of competitiveness.

BTJ,

The real reason why players left was because they were sick of watching blokes run past you and being escorted to the line and carrying your sorry butt.

yeah yeah Bluebag.

In Newtown's most succesful a grade season I played hooker and guided us to the semi finals where I was replaced by someone the coach thought would do a better job.

we got trounced 44-22.

I came on with 10 before half time. You'll never guess when we scored? Moved me out into the second row after this and the game slipped away as the creativity from the ruck died out.

What people don't realise is you can have all the ball skills in the world but if you haven't got a brain you won't cut the mustard in Rugby League.

Now luckily for Newtown i have both of these in abundance.
