Should next years Warriors/Storm ANZAC match be at Eden Park?

Where should the Melbourne/Warriors ANZAC Day match be held

So far the Storm have always hosted the Warriors/Storm ANZAC Day match?

Is this a good thing? Should the game be shared between the two franchises?

If they took the game to the Warriors, then they could play it at Eden Park. The three matches they have taken there so far have all been above 30k, so one would have to guess it would be a good crowd. Then take into account the ANZAC Day factor, and it could be pushing 40k.

So what do you think? Should Melbourne have a monopoly on this match or should Eden Park and the Warriors get their fair share too?

Or even better, have Warriors playing someone else in Auckland every year, and start that tradition over their. Melbourne to play someone like the Bronco's (or anyone they believe would draw a good crowd) instead on this day every year.

It provides good coverage for the game on this day. Just means the rest of the weekend is pretty spread out.

Fri x 1
Sat x 1
Sun x 2
Mon x 1 (or even scrap it on this week unless Anzac day falls on the Monday).

Alternating would be great, but I don't see it happening as the NRL try to get people from the AFL game to stick around for the Storm-Warriors match

Do the Storm attract a crowd in NZ?

Seems as League fans we love to take something successful and f**k it for the same of shits and giggles only.

Roosters/Dragons in Sydney at ANZ, it would draw a massive crowd. Storm/Warriors at Eden Park which would also draw a massive crowd. We need to share the ANZAC Day joy with our Kiwi mates.

The next 3 years will be ok as it'll be on Friday, Saturday & Monday. 2017 ( Tue ) & 2018 ( Wed ) are when they'll need to juggle things more. It should always be played at SFS, as the atmopshere with 40,000 ( or even 20,000 if wet or one or both teams struggling ) is infinitely better than taking it to Homebush ( plus it's closer for the people involved in the main march in the city )

As for the Storm v Warriors game, definitely alternate venue between Melbourne & NZ.

I'm actually against this. Part of the original attraction for this match was the way in which I could watch my late grandfather march in the parade, walk down George St to Central station and get on the bus up to Moore Park. SFS is the optimal location. 40 thousand fans can't be wrong.

Roosters and Dragons can never be at ANZ, it needs to be close to the march so the veterans can attend.

My question is why do these teams get a monopoly on one of the biggest drawing days of the year ? Why don't I as a tigers fan ever get to see my team on an Anzac Day. The roosters have gotten favours from administration getting to play the big kickoff game against souths, getting the Anzac Day game. Why do they get the big crowd drawing advantages while other teams and ill use my team as an example don't get to play on these so called special days

so playing it melbourne is basically hoping for 25k from the afl to stick around for a league match.

or they could play it in NZ and have 35k of league lovers at a spectacular venue.

Why, NRL, why?

in terms of rugby league, ANZAC day was just another day. there was nothing special about it. then Easts and the Dragons got together and decided to make it an event. Through our efforts we have created something special.

If the Tigs want a big drawing day then they should go out and do the hard yards and make their own. They shouldn't just expect to freeload off the effort of others

OT, but how about this for Good Friday :

Double header at ANZ
Bulldogs v Rabbitohs 2pm
Eels v Tigers 4pm

Suncorp
Broncos v Titans 6.45 local ( due to no daylight saving )
