Should the NRL start sueing players/officals for damaging the code

It's a code of conduct, no different to most of us that have jobs or everyone that is a citizen of a country.

Not sure how sueing a contractor/employee would work but I have no issues with standing players or officials down with hefty fines, like what they did to Gallen, less the back-pedalling

i'm getting sick of these D*kheads thinking that they are above the law, that they can do what ever they want with the big cash they get. The rest of us don't have the luxury of what they have... Something has to be down to rain in on these coke snorting drug pushing cowboys... Maybe send them over to an Indonesian prison for a couple of weeks and give them a bit of hard cold reality... We have 2 people who have changed there lives for the better and ultimately may lose there lives in Indonesia, and over here we these roll model super stars (use the term loosely) that they think its a big game selling drugs.

The NRL need to implement automatic bans from the game if a player is sacked from their club for disciplinary reasons (the ban length dependant on what they did). At the moment players know that if they're sacked from their club another will just pick them up. Let them face a period without their lucrative incomes.

When appropriate the NRL should also be able to override a club's decision not to sack a player and implement the ban from the game. Take the blokes at Souths for example. They should be facing being rubbed out of the game for assulting women...not still picking up large amounts of money.

Jealous much? I'm sorry your delusions of grandeur turned out to be just that.

I know what code will welcome back Hunt after he serves his inevitable suspension.

The NRL.

That's what we should be avoiding, but club officials will always rate short term on field gains far higher than long term off field damage.

No different than civvy street, the real baddies getting caught are in the minority, that's why they continue to take risks. For every one dumb enough to leave himself vulnerable there are 10 that don't.

The difference is that most of the 'wrongdoings' League players are ostracised for by wankers in the media and on forums are misdemeanors scrutinised only because they can be, most worth a smack on the wrist

The proportion of people that sacrifice their social life to prepare for League that are 'bad' is paltry compared to civvy street. Sure, punish the real baddies to the full extent but don't be a f**king arsehole and turn a molehill into a mountain . . . Joel Monaghan is looking down from an English pedestal because of f**kwits much bigger than he

Jealous? hardly .... I'm just frustrated that now our sport feels like it's rising to it's full potential at home and abroad and now this crap happens... The post was more of a frustration of "not again" the anything else.
I guess I just worded it wrong lol.

This.

Who cares outside of the authorities (who have a monetary incentive) what people consume in their private lives. These are high performing athletes with families whose crime is offending the sensibilities of thin skinned, politically correct sheep.

You don't mind them funding racketeering, murder and opening themselves up to extortion?

People who have clearly never been outside their private school world, are conflating Class A drugs with Cannibas. They aren't the same thing.

And you know what, if I was running a proffesional sporting organization, I want my athletes to avoid all drugs of depency, including nicotine and alcohol.

I'm happy for you to take drugs, just don't pretend that its some sort of victimless crime.

Anyone who f**ks with drugs can be hung by their nuts for all I care, it's the blokes being ostracised for simple mistakes that I disagree with

What's the gain in sueing them? The pittance they could recieve as compensation after the lawyers had their slice
