NSWRL Ban Shoulder Charge in Junior Games

After a recent NSWRL Board Meeting, it was decided to outlaw the Shoulder Charge in all Rugby League Games, both School, Junior League and Junior Reps's U/18 and below


You may be aware that the ARL Board in December resolved to ban shoulder charges in the interstate U/16yrs and U/18yrs matches. Qld had already banned the practice in its State.

At a recent NSWRL Board meeting held yesterday the Board extended the ban
on shoulder charges to all competitions 18yrs and under (schools and junior league).

This ruling is effective for the commencement of the 2008 RL season.

I can't believe that they've banned it from Junior Rep matches as well.

hopefully it might bring back a return of technical rugby league tackles of the past rather than hitting them as hard with your shoulder and hoping for the best.
