I keep seeing his melon on TV having a whinge about Beckett and saying his head was atacked blah blah blah.

Looked like a headclash to me and Beckett did nothing wrong yet O'Davis is bringing the game into disrepute by speaking out against Hall and disagreeing with him.

I say they should fine him.

Couldn,t agree more.Just because he had his nose moved laterally into the adjoining postcode and copped a fractured palate into the bargain,he thinks he,s entitled to complain.

Well, even Jim Hall couldn,t dispute that his head was attacked.I guess intent is the question they had to deal with.
I,ve seen the replay three times but all at normal speed.I,m not convinced it was a head clash.

Fair go boys.
Anyone speaking out against Hall is bringing the game into repute.
Hall is the prick that brings the game into disrepute.
Now I have say, that I have no truck for O'Davis, but on this occassion I will stick up for him.
That does not mean that I think Beckett has a case to answer.

O'Davis isn't happy with the fact that Beckett decided to put a huge hit on him for no reason.
The head clash and the injury was just bad luck, but putting on a huge shoulder charge in the dying minutes of a game in which you have been flogged in just pure spite. The shoulder charge is not the best way to stop a player, it is just the best way to hurt him.
Not so many years ago the Knights forwards (or any pack of forwards) would make it their business to settle with Mr Beckett in the time honoured way (an eye for an eye), and the ref wouldn't have seen it, even if it happened under his nose, but that won't happen these days I suppose.
As O'Davis said, Beckett did nothing all game and just wanted to make a name for himself in the dying minutes, and he also pointed out that Beckett wouldn't have done it if he was a 100kg forward.
Beckett didn't do anything against the rules, unless we are talking about unwritten rules that is.

You believe the shit that's comming out of his mouth?

Newcastle players and most fans make up the most shit I've ever seen.

Always got an excuse for their drug taking, drunken behaviour, thuggery etc etc and then you go around making up bullshit about other players like Beckett.

Newcastle fans think Perry is innocent because Hill is a wanker. What kind of geniused logic is that?

Thank f**k I don't live in that areaas there's something they put in the water that doesn't do wonders for your brain.

I hope Beckett nails him again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope the next time Beckett is half held in a tackle Josh Perry comes from his blind side and knocks him into the fifth row of the grandstand. It wouldn't be against the rules, so he should go for it.

I don't know what O'Davis is on about. I think it was only last year in a game against the warriors that he went in late with a swinging arm to the head of a player that was already on the ground. If I recall correctly it was someone smaller than him, possibly Hohaia, maybe Tony. I remember the commentators at the time brushing it off as 'frustration'. Beckett was frustrated and was giving him a taste of his own medicine.

So you bag Beckett but I suppose you think Perry is innocent?

At this stage Perry looks pretty guilty to me.

<ul> [*]Hands around the face [*]Reefing action [*]Hill's immediate reaction to it [*]Alleged photos to back it up
Newcastle supporters main defensive reasons from what I've read <ul> [*]Hill is a wanker [*]Hill is a whinger [*]Facial massages happen every second tackle [*]Hill is a wanker [*]Perry wouldn't do that [*]Hill is a wanker
Based on that they think he should get off.

Having only seen one replay,Perry may have a problem ,although it looks more like raking the face rather than eye-gouging-not that the penalty should be any less.
The fact that Tezza is a wanker is irrelevant (except maybe to Tezza)
The Beckett/O,Davis thing proves that we (RL) should follow Unions lead and ban the shoulder charge. It is a blight on the game, causes unnecessary, and at times severe injuries, and is a poor substitute for correct tackling technique.
Banning it is the only sensible thing Union have done in recent years (perhaps ever)

I don't think O'Davis has any grounds for grievance, I've lost count of how many times I have seen that guy drop his knees into a player diving over the line. Maybe, as Roopy has suggested, it was O'Davis's turn to beon the recieving end of"the time honoured way" of settling old scores.

Yes, I remember Robbie's knees going fair into Jason Smiths head when he scored a try in the 1999 finals. I think he was knocked out as a result of this.

Did Robbie get suspended for that? Not if my memory serves me correctly.

I wonder how he explained that to his daughter??

Sends a great message to parents of potential league players, doesn,t it?Raking the face and eyes worth only a slap on the wrist.Does the judiciary have a clue about anything?

correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't it Beckett's head that rearranged O'Davis' face, not his shoulder. The fact that it was a shoulder charge is irrelevant. The exact same thing could have happened if it was a conventional tackle.

At least League is making an effort to stamp out foul play. The AFL are much worse than the NRL. Greg Stafford was cleared ofs striking charge on Peter Everitt. It was a deliberate elbow that left Everitt with a fractured cheekbone and requiring surgery. I think there were a few similar incidents from the last round of the AFL to also go unpunished.

At least O'Donnell got 11 weeks for the same offence.

I also think Matthew Lloyd from Essendon was cleared the week before when he deliberately punched some bloke int he stomach.

Absolute grubs.
