Sick of our media / paper coverage

Gotta say that I'm sick to death of the media (mostly the papers) coverage of Tigers' results.

Last night we outclassed Parramatta in a tough and slippery game. We defended very well.

So I open up BOTH Sunday papers today to read about it. And all they can talk about is how Parra are a bit embarrassed and eager to avoid the wooden spoon.

In the last 2 or 3 paragraphs you get some game explanation and how the Tigers won.

Why is it when we win, the focus goes on how the other team lost? Or how the other team is disappointed?

I agree and was thinking the exact same thing. We got a wrap after we beat Manly and Canberra this year but apart from that its always how bad the other team was. However after losses to Penrith and Canterbury we got more written about us than when we win well! :?

Yeah we do copp the rough end a bit. But last night i can probably understand. The other two games had a far better story to come out of the night.

Our game wasnt a classic by any means, other than our defence (which still was very average in the second half at times), we didnt play that well.

But im sure it also has to do with 11 v 12 not being very appealing.

Cronulla, Manly, Canberra, Bulldogs, Warriors, Melbourne were all games where we had good media coverage after our win, not focused on the poor form of the other team while

NQ, Parramatta (2wice) and Warriors (had good coverage and bad) were all wins where it was more focus on the crapness of the opposition.

Agreed it is annoying. I was unable to see the game yesterday, and I open the paper today and all it says was Mears scored a try in the article. Very informative on the game! :roll:

We've had awesome coverage this year. Nothing to whinge about IMO.

at least it isn't total negative bs like it has been in the past year..
every other year our only coverage would be come scandal at the club, or if we did jag a win it was because the other team played like crap no matter how well the tigers played..

I see what you guys are saying but i wasnt surprised for one second. That second half wasnt upto scratch, sure our defense could've been raved about but truthfully, Parramatta were aweful and the only reason we didnt put 50 on them was our own fault. It wasnt a great spectacle either, add that and the fact that the media is trying to stir up Brian Smith. We just have to cop it, im sure if we win on sunday arvo the papers will talk about us.

It's definitely better than the last couple of years, that's for sure, and at least it's all about footy, and not anything a) illegal, b) immoral.
