Simon Woolford Sent Off!

Maybe someone with a bit of a background in refereeing can tell us what "on report" is.

I'm just assuming "on report" means that in the report the referee and officials write after every match, they mention a tackle by a particular player which should be reviews by the authorities.

If a player is sent off, I’m sure it would be mandatory for the referee to report it in his match summary.

So to answer your question, yes.

I didnt think the tackle was that bad. Maybe 2 weeks. Its a joke that the ref decided to send him off though, since there have been many worse tackles.

It will give a chance for Drew to shine in the hooking role. I personally think that is a good thing and I don't think any of the injuries bar Tyran Smith will keep any of the players out.

Terry Martin, Ben Cross and Michael Hodgson will be back next week and we need to punish the Cowboys in the leadup to the Knights match which will determine where we finish. Assuming Germ is suspended I would go with this side:

Schif
Joel
Mogg
Booger
Lolesi
Croker
McLinden
Martin
Wiki
Hindmarsh
Davico
Drew
O'Hara

Tongue
Cross
Hodgson
Thompson

Look at that bench. Awesome power and size. Definitely an advantage heading into the finals.

simon didn't deserve to get sent off. Nowhere near as bad as some tackles have been, but he is now the scapegoat.

I think what didn't help simon was the fact that he had a slight kerfuffle the tackle before. Ah well, not to worry. The back page of the canberra times had a ripper of a photo(the one that was on the NRL site earlier today), but blown up it looked super :)

What a day at brooky, 95% of the crowd leaving before fulltime, where was crazy john when they needed him?

I think it is very surprising Woolford got 2 weeks as a grading. Williamson hit his head on the ground when he fell and this did the most damage. In any other game, Woolford wouldn't even have been sent off... it is just that it followed the Souths/Balmain-Wests game with the lack of a Fletcher send off.....

I agree with Schif, it didn't help Woolfords case that he was blueing with Williamson a few plays before and Simon might have gone into the tackle with more “vigour”.

But Williamson's head hitting the ground did all the damage... I think it is a big overreaction.... 1 week maximum for that tackle.

Was anyone of you blokes there? It was a drunk who pretty much influenced Stinkson's call. Germ was abit pissed that he didn't get the off-side call, and obviously the ex-raiders factor that Finch felt the week before ;-) Woolford should've just called him 'soft' like a certain champion did a week ago..

It was a bloody JOKE of a call.... BTW, hello all... I forgot about this forum!!!

Anyway Simpkins is a moron.... He refed the game shit all day with the stupid slow play the balls, etc.... However I don't know if the players really cared all that much as they were tired anyway...
