No doubt we will agree and disagree on many issues and it is great to have the thought processes' challenged.
I will always believe a mans worth is what he brings and if he can deliver on his promise or the promise others see in him.
Re Lafai I considered him a dud, still believe he is a dud but feel no real joy in that being the case. Moreover I am sad to see us having gone down that path yet again as for mine the indicators were very apparent.
Sims I consider a dud, happy to be proven wrong but would have been far happier to see Marketo's money and Sims money put into a "blue chip" for 2017 purchase and Host promoted.
Now we have Sims taking up $500k / season and tied to us for 3.5 years so if he doesn't fire all we have is Marketo's money say $200k to dabble with. Yes Cooper is going I know but we also need some cap freed for a half back so not sure how much would be left in the whippy jar.
So therefore IMHO not a good scenario. so again I believe the club has taken a poor course of action.
For people to say Sims was the 18th man for SOO and we should be impressed by that holds little value for me.
I consider Daley a fool and many of the NSW SOO elections as not only poor but tragic and I believe he results vindicate my position.
In respect of players leaving clubs I consider that very different to players being let go by clubs.
In Sims case a top 4 contender did not consider him a worthwhile keeper and a wooden spoon contender who has problems allover the paddock and surely need a first grade quality player in their ranks (more than any other club) also let him go.
Sims took a downgraded contract to come to us so again I see lots of issues and ask "why don't we buy a real quality player" instead of journeymen with chequered history.
Anyway the jury will deliver a verdict in 4 or 5 weeks and in between time no doubt we will have a lot of other things to discuss.
PS: If they had of had this forum back in the 70's and 80's I could have really spat a dummy or 10 on some of the signings or lack there of back then.
