does anyone think famiuina is worth looking at, at his best is a gamebreaker he was the star in the warriors 48 to 20 drubbing of the bulldogs in 2003 finals game, but has a bit of problem with teh old drink.
kicked out by the warriors then linked up with harlequins then walked out.
is he worth it, and for that matter who is he talking to as his manager said he will be talking to nrl clubs.

Personally, I'd prefer to wait till the end of next year and spend the money on either Paul Gallen or Luke O Donnell or even Mark O Meley. He's too much of a liability as far as I'm concerned. There's no doubt he'll be talking to NRL clubs, but whether Manly are talking to him are another story. As I said last time his name popped up, I won't be dissapointed either way, but at this stage, I'd rather we waited.

Scuba - put it this way mate:-

1. We HAVE no replacement for BK. That is obvious.
2. Beaver MAY retire end of 2007.
3. There's no way a club could get both Gallen / O'Donnell
4. 11. Watmough 12. Faumuina 13. Gallen would be AWESOME in 2008.

1. Faumuina is a LIABILITY - and even you should be able to see that. He's a drunken lout that I'd rather WASN'T associated with the Manly club.
2. Yes, Beaver may retire at the end of 2007, but I'll bet my bottam dollar that Adam Cuthbertson will get plenty of game time next year and will be ready to take over from Beaver should we not sign anyone for 08. I'd rather spend the money we could be throwing at Faumuina for other purposes such as trying to attract one of Mark O Meley, Paul Gallen or Luke O Donnell to the club.
3. I never said we'd get both Gallen / O Donnell mate, just that we should be trying to sign both, because then we've got two bites of the cherry, and if one fails, we've still got a chance to sign the other.(at least talking to both)
4. 11. Watmough, 12. Cuthbertson, 13. Gallen wouldn't be too bad either, and plus, we'd have plenty of dosh up our sleeve to sign/retain players.
5. Our recruitment for 2008 will be primarily Under 20's based I'd imagine. I mean, you read what Grant Mayer said ;-)

You have club on the rise next year . Buying faumina would only bring more trouble than what it is worth. The temptation of the bars of manly would be to much for him. Dont sign him

I happen to agree in a sense. I'm not doubting his footballing ability, just stating that he's definately a liability with his actions off the field. If he's only going to bring trouble and cause a bad reputation for a club that build themselves on a good reputation, then theres no reason why we should sign him.

On the flip side, if we could do something like we did with Michael Bani and resurrect his off field antics, then focus on his footy, then it may just be worth it.

Manly hasn't succeeded yet in that department...

Hoppa - failed
Alberts - failed
Bani - watch this space...

True, but don't forget we've had our fair share of off field dramas this year as well. We're definately trying to stamp it out of our club, but adding Sione to our roster will only make it worse IMO
