It was certainly a bleak trip across the Tasman for our team over the weekend.

A win was vital for the side and we didn’t get that in a game that was played in some of the worst conditions I’ve ever seen.

They got the jump on us with three first half tries but we had enough ball, and enough quality chances to get something out of the first half which we were unable to do.

Their plan was simple in the second half in tying the game up and delaying play as often as possible, and despite the referee’s attempts there is nothing in the rules to stop what they were doing. It made the chase for points even harder, and we were unable to bridge the gap, despite playing the better footy in the second 40 minutes.

In the end the match came down to chances…they took them, and we didn’t, nor were we able to create some from nowhere which we needed to do.

There is no denying we find ourselves in a tough position at the moment but the level of commitment from the team has not wavered at anytime and I don’t expect to at any stage this week.

For the best part of 3 seasons the Roosters have been the side that other teams have judged themselves against. It is our turn on Saturday night.

Better than what- better than them- geez...that's something to be proud of. He should've written about Michael Vella's ball-less display- try and fire the cat up for next week. He's the laughing stock of the NRL. I cop it at work, and from mates that he's one of our top money earners and he's the softest prop in the NRL- and i'm affraid to say its a fair call.

We blew what was a vital two points

They got the jump on us with three first half tries but we had enough ball, and enough quality chances to get something out of the first half which we were unable to do.

We didn't start with enough enthusiasm, fell behind and had nothing in attack.

Their plan was simple in the second half in tying the game up and delaying play as often as possible, and despite the referee’s attempts there is nothing in the rules to stop what they were doing. We were never really in it. We had more ball, but the Warriors were controlling the tempo of the game and we weren't good enough to threaten.

In the end the match came down to chances…they took them, and we didn’t, nor were we able to create some from nowhere which we needed to do.

Again.....we just had nothing in attack and never really threatened to break the game open. We really missed Dykes.

There is no denying we find ourselves in a tough position at the moment but the level of commitment from the team has not wavered at anytime and I don’t expect to at any stage this week.

We're trying hard but just aint good enough.

For the best part of 3 seasons the Roosters have been the side that other teams have judged themselves against. It is our turn on Saturday night.

We might get lapped this weekend.

In all of his columns/articles/interviews etc. Brian Smith sounds like a man in denial. He should just quite now and let someone else with a more realistic perspective take over.

As for the Warriors' tactics Brian. You like to use them when it suites you, yet you can't stop whinging when someone else gets you back. Tough luck, you sad little man.

what an absolute load of dribble........

and Sean7 is dead right.....he is a man in denil and yes he uses similar tactics when he likes and futhermore, there is such a facility under the rules for the referee's....its called the sin-bin if it is still in existence in Rugby League.....the ref even said, this is the 2nd or 3rd warning i have given you guys.......its the bin after the first warning or thats how it used to be

that is typical from BS, nothing more than sugar coated bribble from a man who is out of ideas and running scared

he has to step aside and do it soon
