For the Roosters history buffs out there?

When we entered in to NSWRL in 1908 did we split from Eastern Suburbs Rugby Union Club or did we convert from that into the Leagues club.

The ESRUFC that exists now, is that a separate entity that we split from or did they take our place as a new organisation after we left Union?

The Eastern suburbs football club was formed on 24th January 1908 at Paddington town hall.Nine rebels from the East rugby union club formed part of the first team.Harry 'Jersey' Flegg one of the original rebels become the clubs first secretary.Easts beat Newtown in teir first game 32-16 at Wentworth Park on 20th April 1908.
