Couple of things i have learned over the last couple of days.

1. Adam Peek is definitely going to be at Parra next year.
2. Hindy is rarin to go for the roo tour, but will have minor ankle surgery on his return to Oz to clean up the ankle from last years surgery that has been giving him some discomfort. He will be 100% for the first trial.
3. A name player may be released in the coming weeks. (I would name him, but dont want to steal Jake the Snakes' thunder, as he alerted me to it, and i have had it confirmed).

like most of you I really wanted Witt to do well. He is such a likeable kid, but I think most of us would agree he isn't going to win us a comp. I think he will still develop into a good player, but I guess we are not willing to wait another 1 or 2 seasons for that to happen, nor should we.
I think his lack of directing the team around the park has been his downfall. He just wasn't 'connecting' with any of the other players around him. Anyhow, if its true, all the best Witty!

exactly cureme he was not connecting or anything. His communication and leading the team around the field was zero. His passing game was non existant although he was a good Goal Kicker. Parra will be doing the right thing by letting him go. I mean I know they have stuffed up in other players going such as Tonga who I was begging for to be RESIGNED but they have nailed this one. The players that also have to go are Wagon, Burt, Vella and the shit will totally be gone.

Thanks Jason.

How good is Hindy? A lot of other league players would be using an ankle that needed more surgery as an excuse for poor efforts...

I'm in two minds about releasing this name player. Would leave us a bit thin on experience the halves, maybe banking too much on an injured PJ? Unless the release is about freeing more $$$ for another signing [-o<

I'd rather have Witt than bank on an unproven Tim Smith or a injured PJ Marsh. I really hope he is not released.

I have to agree. I know too many Witt is not "THE" player but at least he is consistent enough to win us games. No halfback will prosper behind the shit the forwards dished out this year. Tim Smith is a very good young player with good prospects but then so was Steve Jolly, Martin Seal, Jason Bell and Garen Casey.

Unless there is another signing, a halfback with the same amount of first grade experience, then realesing Witt just doesn't make much sense.

Goalkicking will be the least of Parra's worries if this is to be proven

Mark Riddell
Luke Burt
John Morris - Part timer
MAtt Petersen - Part Timer
Tim Smith
Blake Green
PJ Marsh - Part Timer since making top grade

all have goal kicking experience

I guess Fitzgeralds comments/slip of the tounge in saying that MArsh has proven himself to be a top class 1/2 back might've given it away.

So if this comes through, one injury to PJ is all it takes for us to be in a worse situation in the halves than this year?

Smith, Green, etc may have talent, but they'll still have to ride the same bumpy debutante ride that Witt got put through in the last 18 months.

A lot riding on Smith and the decision he makes. This isnt official so Iam not taking to muhc interest yet. I wonder if Witt wants to leave. We know him and Smith might not see eye to eye.

Yes, it isn't confirmed and not all players have bumpy rides in the top grade admitingly they were not halfbacks but the likes of Sonny Bill, Hunt, Slater didn't have too many bumps so far.

Sonny Bill and Hunt have only played their first year this year. Slater has had his moments this year as well. Witt wasn't even given a chance until halfway through the season and it wasn't until Thorman and he were used in a proper halves rotation did we really see anything good.
