To tune of "Waltzin' Matilda."

Waltz in Australia, Waltz in Australia
We're gunna waltz in a tri-eye or three.

And the poms will go and sulk
and then blame the referee

(Finish this off)

---------------------

To tune of "I am the music man"

We are the Aussie men, we come from far away, and we can play....

Chorus: What can you play ?

We can play the Rugby League.....

Chorus:
OOOoooooo, 30 years without a win, without a win, without a win.
30 years without a win, you poms should learn to play

We are the Aussie men, we come from far away and we can play....

Chorus: What can you play ?

We can play the cricket game.....

Chorus:
OOOoooooo, we'll win the ashes 5-0, 5-0, 5-0
We'll win the ahses 5-0, fy-ive nil.

OOOoooooo, 30 years without a win, without a win, without a win.
30 years without a win, you poms should learn to play

*Etc, each new long chorus gets added each time.

sit down shut up, sit down shut up, sit down shut up, sit down shut up

If you're wearing green and gold, stand up
if you're wearing green and gold, stand up
if you're wearing green and gold
if you're wearing green and gold
if you're wearing green and gold, stand up

(sung to that old song)

I gotta say whilst the sheets with the lyrics would help in knowing the words, it seems like a bit of a fanatics thing to do.

Whilst some of these tunes are ok, the pommies will be ruthless.

Having been on last years tri nations tour and recieved such a drubbing, even when we were winning some of this is pure cannon fodder.

The poms will appreciate good singing and a large group of supporters. They will not tolerate pieces of paper with words on them.

Hit the nail on the head mate, I can't stand it either, it looks terrible. You're at a football game not a church!!!

BTJ and Ultra, imo you are both correct, i'm also not a huge fan of song books and song sheets. I am of the theory, of singing a few basic ones so people can cotton on quick and join in, I do think that the songs and chants should be on the web site with a sound file so that people can hear how it is sung which makes it easier at the games.

Have you any idea how much they cost? I'd be very impressed if you could manage to get enough to make it, although it would be extremely hard.

I trust these songs will all be collected somewhere and not end up as a deleted thread?? There are some good little numbers here.

this is the type of chant that a crowd can get into, (all be it that you would have to edit that last section about the cricket now)

none of this I am Australian, Waltzing Matilda, I come from a land down under crap....

crowds can chant easy short verses like "the music man" and it pays off well, longs songs like waltzing maltida sounds like its being sung by a choir and has no atmospheric value at all.
