Ok I've heard he is the best ball playing prop ever I've seen some highlights I'm just saying I didn't make that comparison in any way, shape or form. I said he is the current best offloader, which is not making him out to be Artie Beetson or is it a stretch or exaggeration.

As the game has changed over the last few decades, he is probably one of 2 - himself and Parker.

Will the new coach want to play such percentages, line break or turnover ball? Who knows?

'Best offloader' shouldn't just be about quantity, but quality (for reference just look at particularly early-career Mateo flinging the ball out any time it was possible - and often when it wasn't - to very mixed effect). Harder to judge, but given Cartwright's error rate is well over double that of Parker... I wonder how many of those errors have come from a loose carry? Or directly from an offload attempt? 50%? 75%? More?

Also the question of what your offloads actually achieve - Parker's offloads usually result in extra metres, but Cartwright's offloads are much more likely to result in a linebreak or try.

Oh - and for straight up quantity per 80 minutes Sam Kasiano beats both of those guys.

Stop using Storm as an "escape goat". You know he is a "road scholar".

Get it write, will you ?. It's roads scholar. And I had a rough time of it when my goat exscaped. Don't remind me of it. He was on the lamb. Goat on lamb. Mmmmm barbecue. With baa baa here, and a bleat bleat there . . . .

See this is a reasonable argument. Id say as a team Penriths error rate was probably much worse than brisbanes but for Bryce the errors are from inexperience, I would expect a vet like Parker to be making a lot less errors than a young guy, the way Bryce carries the ball and always looks for an offload creates the odd error but also remember he was forced to ballplay and create a lot and even play in the halves a few times last year in a team whose spine and backs were changing every week, so he also forced his hand a bit because he became our best attacking weapon while a lot of guys were out, again that is just inexperience.

But he rarely forces the offload, if you watch him play he almost always gets the ball carrying arm free and has a chance to offload but often the defense has it covered or the support isn't there so he holds it.

Re Sam Kasiano, he might be best tbh with that size, I haven't been watching the Doggies much recently besides when we play them.

I have seen a few sons of stars get more chances in Juniors as clubs hope they will bloom like dad. They generally get cast aside when things get serious. Except for the Anderson's that is.

He meant a travelling scholar. Like that Telstra ad - "I've been everywhere man."

Im telling you now it is a fact he is one of the best, the stat definitely does prove that, I can understand you not wanting to say he is definitely the number 1 offloader but anyone who scoffs at the possibility like Maroon4like or KBW probably haven't seen him play or are just complete f**ktards, but he is without a doubt in the world one of the best, there is no way he could have thrown enough ineffective offloads to not have him at the top of the total offloads stat but not be one of the best offloaders, I would of seen it for one and his error rate would be through the roof as well.

I doubt it the NRL doesn't do advanced stats, the effectiveness is something to be considered but I doubt they count them unless they are completed offloads. I have seen every FG game has played and he has a freakish ability to get the offload away which is supported by the statistics, occasionally the support player isn't ready for it or Bryce himself might fumble it in the attempt but that would be true for all of the top offloaders. Everyone considered to have a good offload is up on the total list so it seems like a fairly decent way to decide who is the best as long as you take into account they are season totals, so not every player played finals etc

Ta. Saw him play 3-4 games last year and he was impressive. Hope he kicks on anf has an injury free run.

 Sorry i thought it was obvious. Betcats got it.
And no it's not that good, i grade it as a C-

I thought you were talking about Darius' dad - Les Boyd. Great second rower but not as good a winger as Darius. ;-)

Geez Penrith fans are very parochial about their players.

Of course it wasn't that long ago that Waqa Blake was set to be the 'next big thing'. Greg Inglis 2.0.

I think most Panthers fans now want him dropped off the Harbour Bridge with a ball & chain strapped to his ankle.

That being said, Bryce Cartwright is a phenomenal talent and has the potential to dominate like few forwards can with his unique skill set. He's almost as good as that bloke from my team. :D

Why do you care so much? You chirp on about this all the time, its like we can't even mention ourjuniors without Tommy appearing talking about Waqa Blake. You better hope the new "next Greg Inglis" Latrell pans out better than Moga(the next Israel) did.

It wasn't Penrith fans calling him Greg Inglis, it was the media and he still can be a great player, most Penrith fans can see that he just needs some time in his real position and in a team that isn't battling every week with the spine and centres changing every second game we play.

I love a good meltdown as much as the next bloke.

Thanks betcats, it's been a fun read.

I hope he can learn to offload properly next year.

Throwing a ball out the back of the to a Soward or Moylan looks great in theory, but when they're getting hammered back 15 metres after the fact, it's not much chop.
