SOOII - Slater offside all match

Slater was running from an offside position all match.

To the eye his chip-and-chase try in the second half came from offside, but I will admit on the replay it wasn't conclusive.

HOWEVER in the last try to Dane Carlaw, ignoring the obstruction etc Slater was a few metres in front of Lockyer when the bomb was put up. He then went on to challenge Tahu for the footy.

Deadset if Bumstead made a call like that against the Tigers I'd be calling for his blood. Terrible. That bloke is an average average ref, plus no personality to boot.

I think you will find that a lot of people on hear were secretly going for Scott Prince.....I mean the maroons

So you prob won't get much of an argument out of them. (me included) :)

Very difficult to support one team minus one player, and just one player from the other team.

I think a lot of people forget that Slater, defensively is quite ordinary. I'm all for giving raps were raps are due, but IMO this guy gets way too much good press for being fast and backing up.

I would agree When i was out at first match i had my tigers jersey on and when prince scored i jumped up and down then quickly sat back down as my dad gave me an evil look.
STILL Blues rock

Hahaha - I did the same thing, except it was my husband giving me the look and telling em "sit down, would ya. You should be going for NSW!"

Ok this is straight from Ref's boss Finch

"Billy Slater was onside, it was a try," Finch said. "To be offside, the chaser must have both feet in front of the kicker. That is, Billy Slater only needed one foot behind Darren Lockyer to be onside."

Now thats part of the onside rule I didn't know about!

Makes sense though.......when you're defending on your tryline you must have one foot on the line, the other can be a metre in front.
