Sorry

The comment I made, "This forum got too big for some and they spat the dummy to a new place to enchance their egos and profiles."

Looks like I have upset a few people on this. For that I apologise for.

I shouldn't have mentioned the word egos.

However the WORL forums did grow out to 3,500 members of many different kinds of people ranging from historians to teenagers who idolised certain players.

That created a different culture where the site didn't rely ona core group. This place has a strong core.

I shouldn't have said that and that was very wrong of me.

I don't expect anyone to forgive me but that is ok. I'm sorry.

Now for some advice to make this work and it's why Bryce's site works really well and Troy's doesn't. Forget about WORL, rleague, me and whatever and build your own culture. Just take that advice and you'll be on track for a great place in the Rugby League landscape.

Best of luck and apologies for what I said.

Take care & kindest regards,

Matt.

Well that's great Matt. If that's all it was. Do you really thinkthis upset was over one silly remark?
One on one, I accept anyone's apology but trust is a different thing.
Perhaps as a sign of goodwill, you should re-open the lines of communications for WORL forum members. Currently, thetendancy is to ban anyone's post which mentions the LWOS website address. That is, the forum which you yourself are a member of.
We were just coming to the realisation that it was best to put all this behind us.
I hope this trend continues.

I've sent Michael an email and see what he says. I apologised and sent a lengthy email about what will make this succeed or fail after the early hype.

Spamming will make it fail, subtle or direct, look at the reaction to Robbie's site.

My best suggestion is build your own culture and try not feed off WORL or you guys will live in the shadow. I rather talk as Matt the Canterbury fan but the constant references to WORL make that hard.

Now rleague has the facilities, we have setup our own forums after months of talking about it. But I refuse to promote it in Ninemsn. I mention it but that's as far as I go only because someone thought I was ditching Ninemsn, which will never be the case.

I'll let things slide until I hear back from Michael.

I don't think there's any danger of cross promotion leading to a downgrading of either site.
As far as I'm concern the matter should go belly up.
