THE DVD of the record-breaking Sound Relief charity concerts will finally be released on October 2.
The four-disc DVD will contain more than nine hours of music from the Melbourne and Sydney concerts.
Proceeds will go to the Red Cross and all artists involved have waived royalty payments.
Sound Relief, which raised more than $8 million for fire and flood relief, was named Best Special Event at last night's Helpmann Awards in Sydney.
Promoter Michael Gudinski has high hopes for the concert souvenir.
"Given the amount of phone calls and emails we've had asking when the DVD was coming out I think this could be the highest-selling Australian music DVD in history," Gudinski said.
"This is something people who were there will want to show their kids. It was the biggest paid event in Australian history. And a lot of people who were in Melbourne didn't get to see what was happening in Sydney and vice versa.
"It's definitely one of the most rewarding things I've ever been involved with . . ."
John Farnham and Coldplay's version of You're the Voice will be the DVD's money shot, and every artist who performed in both cities will be represented on the release.
"Some acts have their whole set on there, some just a few songs, but it's all music," Gudinski said. "We didn't want to clutter it up with interviews."
Other acts include Kylie Minogue, Olivia Newton-John, Kings of Leon, Barry Gibb, Hunters and Collectors, Icehouse, Wolfmother, Jet, Taylor Swift, Split Enz, Jack Johnson, the Presets, Hoodoo Gurus and Midnight Oil.
