South Wales League serious problems

It's looking like there won't be a league in South Wales next year (the league in North Wales will be fine). Only 3 clubs finished the season and one of those (Bridgend Blue Bulls) are likely to fold as well as the manager has had to step down. Valley Cougars are planning to play in an English league (the West of England one seems most likely) which leaves just Bonymaen Broncos to play where?

Neath Port Talbot Steelers and Torfaen Tigers pulled out before the season, Tydfil Wildcats and Blackwood Bulldogs entered but never made the starting gate and Cardiff Demons, Titans and Dyffryn Devils packed in midseason.

Very worrying, I doubt South Wales Hornets will be around either as their league is probably folding and they've called off their last 2 away games.

The momentum and growth in RL in Sth Wales was always going to hit a brick wall when Crusaders moved away. Some people thought it wouldn't matter but of course it has. Realistically losing a handful of half-arsed teams that only played 10 games a year isn't that bad, but when it basically wipes out the entire amateur game in what is supposed to be one of the top five or six RL nations shows how piss poor the game is outside the big three countries.

The league was going fine before Crusaders. I suspect taking players out of the league for Scorpions, Hornets and Scorpions U18 has taken its toll but the ultimate problem was the league was set up for RU players and such leagues never last. Bridgend and Bonymaen are the only sides that played this year with juniors, most junior clubs in South Wales are standalone. This can't have helped. Ultimately a chain reaction combined with a season of bad weather killed it off
