South West Warriors 2012

After a very successful 2011 the SW Warriors will remain in reserve grade for 2012 due to not being in a position to step up. The club is losing approx 60-70% of it's players from last season, mainly due to lack of work prospects. Some have left the state/country while several will be trying their hand at securing a 1st grade birth in Perth. The pleasing thing to note is there were 20-25 players to the first training run of the year.
The club is focussed on ensuring we can field as many teams as we can, particularly in the juniors ranks. If this is accomplished, 2012 will be another successful year regardless of on field results.

Go the Warriors in 2012!

Probably for the best at this early stage of the clubs development. Always going to be a challenge with the itinerant nature of the workforce here. Jnrs are the key, get the schools playing and eventually there will be a stready stream of local players.

Enjoyed cheering the Warriors on during the GF last year and hope to see you guys there again this season.

Thanks PR, I do believe it is for the best at this stage. There were a few players that wanted to step up & could easily have done so hence the reason they have moved on for this season.
I am sure there are some out there that would feel a bit aggrieved that we weren't forced to go up while their club has to fill two teams & I empathise with them. However, I do feel it is different down here considering it is the first time ever RL has been played in the SW & needs to be nurtured accordingly.

The South West Warriors are in desparate need of people who are interested in growing RL in the SW region. While players in all grades, particularly to the junior under 10, 12 14 & 16's are required & welcomed, we really need people willing to put their hands up & take on a specific role within the club.
Due to work committments the club has lost the vast majority of its premiership team & coaching staff, not to mention a couple of executive board positions. This club has great volunteer support for game days, probably some of the best sponorship in the WARL but without hands on deck all this good work would be in vain unless others come on board.
If anyone is interested in taking on a position please PM your details.

Swamp,
Just wondering how the U18's are going. Noticed you are playing Kalamaunda on Saturday, will they have a enough players? Also how is the women's league tag going plenty of players?

Struggling Albert, enough numbers saying yes they will play but very few turning up to training in both grades.
