true but why not make it a slot that actually works for a club rather than hinders them. A 6pm Sunday slot works perfectly for perth And tv. It would be 8pm in nz which wouldn’t be great for them. Port ores y sure, they arent making any money anyway so who cares,

Nz 2 could take the ugly 6pm Friday slot alternating with warriors but that puts east cost clubs into the somewhat unfriendly Sunday early evening slot every week. I suspect for corporate sales a 6pm Friday would be preferable to east coast clubs than a 6pm Sunday slot.

No it’s not dependent on it, but it is advantageous in a number of ways for perth to be in that time slot for the nrl.

Means an east coast team doesn’t have to be half the time, means more chance of a perth club being successful and should deliver better quality games for half the slots. And you east coasters get to watch our stunning west coast sunsets. Happy days.
